I love Hungary, as I am married to one Hungarian. I feel very sad for the country and its people. They seem to have been a deeply catholic place which in last half century had almost lost its faith. Definitely evil has a strong attack on the country during the comunism. People say they are catholic but know nothing or very little about the faith. And as time passes this us getting worse. We just burried my mother in law who died with no dignity at all in a hospital, being only 69 and going there with a simple infection, not being allow to see anyone other than her husband for only 30 mins a day. So no prist could see her. Doctors saying she is fine and shoukd come out soon, ended up more than a month tgere to jusst get a call saying she pass away. When i learn she could not even get masses done or a proper funeral because there are so few priest in the country that not mass are celebrated anymore but only on Sundays. So funeral with some words from a priest who could come that day but mass until 3 days later. So she had a very unrealigoius person, even she was a nice sweet perdon, but seem to know little. There were no prayers, for her, just a burrial abd a mass 3 days after. . Also, the marriage ttadition in the country, gives most ceremony and importance to the civil wedding making the religious weding almost feel like not important. Fir that reason, i jusy git a civil wedding, hoping one day i could celebrate a decent religious wedding in my country. So of course that never happened as my husband later confess he does nit really believe in God, once we have a family, now am stuch and have pray much for hus conversionbut thats seens to will never happen... very hard heart. Not even fir hus mother will come to a mass with me, i went alone to masses i ask for her in the country we live. So sad and painful to see many people like that in hungary, nice and wonderful people, so far from god and catholic faith. Just a message to thus bishop to really see whats happening in the country and put some thoughts, prayers, and work to turn around such a terrible situation. All in this channel pray for the soul of Erszibet Pap, and the conversion of her husband and son.
