@@MatthewMoniz Irrelevant. You won't be able to play games on this anyway. It's too thin and will throttle quickly. Thunderbolt ports on ultrabooks are just a gimmick.
I just bought this laptop (i7 16Gb with a dedicated MX250)... I don't care that much about its weight and battery life to be honest, sure I'm going to use this on the go, at work and in trains, because I already have a desktop at home, but I won't travel enough to the point that it matters that much to me. I bought it because it's an i7 10th gen with 16 Gb of ram and an MX250, so I'm going to try and see if it's really not performing that well, I'm kinda disappointed to see only one fan... The thing is, the competition really sucks, there's the Asus Zenbook 13/14 which is better in every aspect but no Thunderbolt 3 is a deal breaker for me (I'm going to use an eGPU, sure very occasionally, but I need it). The XPS 13 2-in-1 is nice and performs really well, I tried it and it's a beast and feels really premium, sure it also costs way more and the SSD is soldered so I'm kinda afraid to have to send it back if the SSD fails after the very short 1 year warranty, but my main issue with it is the absolute lack of quality constrol from Dell, both XPS 13 I had in my hands suffered from HORRIBLY LOUD and constant coil whine, I couldn't bear it in a quiet room. What's left ? The HP spectre, but I hear it's more or less the same as the XPS, with the same issues, so I don't know if I should bother trying. So here I am buying a laptop which is technically not the kind I'm looking for. I have had the i7, 16 gb of ram and the 512 SSD now for about a month and the only thing that i have noticed so far is the finger print reader won't always work on the first go. Hi Matthew Moniz, I just bought this exact model off Amazon three days before your review ( I use it for studying machine learning, beginner ), can U please explain a bit more about CPU under-clocking the GPU, and if u suggest users like myself to overclock the CPU? i.e. does the motherboard and CPU allow overclocking? Hope you can address these in your in-depth review, I look forward to it. Regards, Matt
