The Son of Sunbow- The Energon Universe!
That's why I love it so much!
0:56 Transformers G1 Season 1 theme music instrumental ver.🤩

"As the Autobots fight for earth 🌎, humanity's own heroes will rise." That is so awesome. It's good. I really like it.
I bought Transfomers 1 completely on a whim because I like Transfomers and they were randomly selling it my comic book shop. I never expected it to be as good as it was. It was an excellent story that felt mature but still Transformers. I also didn't expect it to be connected to a larger universe, so I got some Void Rivals issues later when I learned they were in the same continuity.
Void Rivals was alright, but not amazing and it feels disconnected since it takes place in space and not on Earth. I've never consumed any GI Joe media but I tried Duke and Cobra Commander. I straight up loved Duke having always been a fan of political thrillers and renegades, but Cobra Commander was unlike anything I expected! Honestly, I was confused by the backstory. Everyone else seems to be freaking out about Cobra-La but I don't know anything about GI Joe and want to keep it that way so I can go in blind. Cobra Commander's weirdness place it a bit outside my comfort zone, but I still loved how it was connecting to this overall Transfomers story.
I really appreciate that about all 4 titles in the Energon Universe (EU - man that acronym brings up memories as a Star Wars fan!), they're all seemingly telling the same story from different perspectives. I therefore feel like I'm getting the full picture from all the different factions and it makes the world really lived in. I also love seeing this totally new continuity get build from the ground up. Unlike Marvel or DC, there isn't 79 years of history and there aren't dozens of other books happening in the same universe. I can literally read and understand everything in this EU. I like that, I'm not crippled by the lore. Maybe in 15 years if this EU keeps up I will be crippled by the lore but as is, it's simple, clear, and awesome and will hopefully remain so for the next few years.
I like that Transformers are essentially the connective tissue between all the different comics, each of which have different tones and styles and I'm really looking forward to where this universe and story goes from here. You got me hooked.
Well said, General Kenobi😊
Alright, you've just convinced me to check it out, lol. 😅
I've never read a G.I. JOE or Transformers comic before, and only learned about this new "entry point" a few minutes ago. Like you, I avoid reading a lot of comics because of the decades of lore you have to sift through to understand anything. Hopefully, this EU series will be enjoyable enough to jump in and not feel like I'm already too far behind.
Now, I just need to find a reading order.
Update: I'm enjoying this EU very much! 😊
I think the Void series is my favorite so far. My only 2 complaints are that it's a little difficult to tell when something is a flashback, and when it is not, so I have to keep rereading panels to make sense of what's happening. Also, it's a bit distracting how every species in the universe just automatically speaks English, lol.
But I'm happy to have started on this EU journey, and am excited to see where it goes. Thanks again for the recommendation. 👍🏿
@@Termite30 Agreed. Void rivals is the weakest one in the Energon Universe so far, though it does feature alien characters from the Sunbow cartoon and more recently, freaking Quintessons from Transformers the Movie!
We need more of these trailers!
Agree dude
I never liked the idea of Transformers being in the same universe as G.I.Joe, but after reading each of these books, I'm totally onboard! Invisible made me aware of the incredible storytelling from Skybound, and I trust this company to do well by TF and G.I. Joe. These aren't just great Transformers comic and great G.I. Joe comics, they are full stop some of the best comics coming out right now. If you're even a little bit curious about these comics, then give them a try. You'll be glad you did.
*Invincible* not Invisible 😅
I've been on board since the first issue of void rivals. I like what skybound is building up to here.
I just hope Kirkman doesn't abandon this story like he basically did with Oblivion Song and Fire Power.
@@xtruthx Void Rivals was a stealth hit. I am lucky that I was able to get issue 1 before they sold out. It's been great ride so far.
I like how Transformers is serving as a prequel building the foundation for the structure that is slowly coming together in Duke and CC. Every book that comes out has it's own independent storyline while peppered with those "oh sh--!" moments that drop hints at the bigger picture. It's an actual linewide effort with a cohesive storygroup that works together towards a common goal as opposed to the current Marvel/DC model of "we're just going to slap the event title on your book's header and produce a bunch of superfluous tie-ins to sell more units".
That was amazing. Looking forward to the next phase!
I see hints of the garbage planet from Transformers the animated move! Yes! Long live the 80s
(*sarcasm.)
Ah yes, the good ol' "I'm a real Transformers fan ever since the 80's and everyone else who's a Transformers fan who's not born in the 80's like me is not a real fan." argument.
Why haven't I seen that before? XD lol.
I have been absolutely captivated with every issue so far. I am in love with comics again. Thank you Skybound
Cant wait for Snake Eyes and GI Joe team!
They did say there would be 2 more G.I JOE mini series so it would be likely that one of them could be a Snake Eyes miniseries!
I love the Energon Universe❤❤❤
Cobra Commander 1 is my first exposure to GI Joe and was surprised to see that Transformers were in it (something else I've not really had any exposure too either) or that they were all in one universe now (which is why I looked it up and found this video announcing it). I'm not sure if the other 3 series' in this universe are required to read to understand the story but I at least now want to see how the Cobra Commander story plays out as I found the first issue quite interesting.
What Kirkman and Skybound are doing right now is the best thing in comic print. No one comes close to this. I own everything Energon. It's incredible
Nice cannot wait
0:30 bruh, now they're rubbing it in.
Again, like the rest of the other users on this site I always tell them.
It's a "You" problem lol.
Much as I hate characters dying, Bumblebee has been overblown in recent years and not really in the right way. It’s why I like mirage in rise of beasts. Time to let some new old blood in the spotlight.
@@Savagewolver well, he's coming back sometime in the future
Im all in on this. Great stories all across the board
Oh my
maybe the best comic trailer I have seen
Oh this is gonna be awesome!
Awesome. Just pure awesomeness.
Fk yeah dude. The Transformers theme at the end was super hype. Great trailer.
Starting in March there will be a new Energon Universe book out every week, I am excited!
Wow 😮
This universe's Optimus embodies Larry Cullen's advice to Peter all those years ago "be strong enough to be gentle"

Nice
If Hasbro is smart, they will wait to build a cinematic universe based off the Energon Universe in ten years time.
@ConnorKent428 my version of a Hasbro universe goes more like this I call it
Hasbroworld
Consist’s of:
G.I. Joe
Transformers
A rebooted version of battleship (if they add battleship I think it should be a reboot of that 2012 movie which I have mixed thoughts for)
M.A.S.K.
Action force
Inhumanoids
Visionaries
Jem and the holograms
Crossovers (i’m gonna take notes from the Hasbro comic book universe crossovers)
Secret Raiders
Revolution
Revolutionaries
G.I. Joe vs battleship vs transformers
First strike
Rise of unicron
M.A.S.K. And action force heroes unite
Standalones and spinoffs (i’m gonna take notes from the bumblebee and snake eyes spinoffs)
Battleship galaxies
Vor-Tech: Underground Conversion Squad
Action man
The misfits
The Stingers
Bumblebee
Optimus Prime
Snake eyes
Chuckles
Lady Jaye
Duke
Cobra Commander
Scarlett
Destro
Void Rivals
Beast wars and beast machines
War for Cybertron
Prime Wars trilogy
Sector 7
Unit:e
What do you think?
They're already doing it, in transformers rise of the beasts there was several hints about an expanded universe
@@adrian_s.m. you do have a point BTW do you agree with my version of a Hasbro universe?
I hope Megatron becomes the main Engeron Universe villain later on.
Looks cool but nothing beats those animated classic Sunbow Marvel comic ads!
Big deal, you elitists were the reason why I never got into the Sunbow/Marvel era of Hasbro to begin with nor that I feel like forcing that lousy era down my own throat either lmao.
@@The_Toonami-AdultSwim_fan2002 awww, poor baby..😜
While I still love Transformers no matter what? I have never felt like getting into G1 that much nor forcing myself to either ever since I was a kid since my first introductions/exposures to Transformers were always just Beast Wars and the Unicron Trilogy and then also Animated,RID 2001,The WFC/FOC games that I watch videos of and Prime (2010) but then when this comic series and I guess maybe the WFC trilogy on Netflix that I watched came along? Truth is unlike what the TF fandom thinks, after Beast Wars and G2? I actually kinda liked them alot more than the original Sunbow and Marvel Transformers G1 media since like I said I didn't care about that era lol.
Also, another truth is I actually also liked G.I. Joe too so y'know what? I'm honestly fine with G.I. Joe and Transformers crossing over even if I never grew up with their original cartoons and comics since my first introductions to G.I. Joe would be Sigma 6,Rise of Cobra,Valor vs. Venom,Renegades, and Resoulte because I enjoyed Transformers alot and have all the toys, so how come I can't enjoy G.I. Joe too huh?
Man, fandoms and their lousy "I want what's best for the franchise" egos nowadays are nothing but total fun-haters by killing every fans fun like mine, I even bet both the Transformers and G.I. Joe's fandoms would kill more of my fun when I'm looking foward to seeing both TF One and the TF and G.I. Joe crossover movies because if enjoying those movies after ROTB and the Bayverse Transformers movies and G.I.Joe duology alot more than both Bumblebee 2018 and the 1986 movie combined would cause my privileges of being both a Transformers and G.I. Joe fan revoked? so be it lol.
What argument are you responding to? I don't see a comment were anyone told you that you were supposed to like G1. Keep liking what you like and stop letting haters live rent free in your head.
What is it going to take for Hasbro to throw money at someone to make an animated adaptation of this (similar to what Image/Amazon did with Invincible)?
Oh boiiiiieeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
Oh Boi oh boiiii Oohhhhh Boooiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!
Oh, so cobra commander pulled a dr. Sumdak from transformers animated and used megatron to built advanced technology from him.
Kirkman is a genius
YO JOE!
I wonder if He-Man will be brought to Skybound after the license expires with Dark Horse? I imagine Habro is VERY pleased with the reception of the Energon Universe.
Megatron has returned
Choose your comic Transformers x Gi Joe or Godzilla x Kong
More Cobra-La! More! I want to see the Insecticycle.
I'm only interested in Void Rivals. Was never a Transformers guy outside of Beast Wars. Really disappointed Void Rivals has been put on hiatus.
This trailer completely spoils Cobra Commander #1. Why do something like that?!? You should have edited the art to put this Transformers in this spoiler in shadow or something that couldn't be easily recognized.
Add Inhumaniods,M.A.S.K., and Visionaries in the Energon universe
Regretful nothing to do with Transformers Energon.
Ah yes I forgot about that one, and I guess that means enjoying Energon (2004) as a guilty pleasure when I was a kid would make me less of a fan now huh? lol.
@@The_Toonami-AdultSwim_fan2002 i liked Energon, which is why the trailer let me down.
@@LordGrim1313 Oh.
Well I mean, to tell the truth besides Transformes, I did also like GI Joe too but I'm sorry to hear that.
@@The_Toonami-AdultSwim_fan2002 I also like GI Joe and the crossover sounds good I just wish the name was different.
I hated the Energon cartoon, but the toys were fantastic. Loved the Decepticon Hypermodes. I still have my Scorponok
please of Hasbro and Capcom of Street Fighter X G.I.Joe X Trans Formers crossover comic announcement and trailer 2024 spring
This would be epic
Yeah man tell em to this how about capcom universe
And also street fighter x g.i joe x transformers crossover to come.
Oh and also please tell the them to make a capcom cinematic universe
Are they implying that we'll have to buy 4 different titles to get one single story?
That's easy, I can just read them online when they're released lol.
Just read them online. only like a couple bucks.
IDW went woke, and went broke.
Thank you Skybound for making Transformers great again.
They didn't, nice try. Though I will say skybound is off to a good start.
no they overloaded their universe with to many brands at hasbros request so had to reboot and the reboot was poorly paced nothing to do with woke oh and mtmte was easily some of the best tf comics I read in years
@@zullumaster123IDW did go broke. Their stock fell so low they were removed from public trading. TMNT is the only license keeping them afloat. "Go Woke Go Broke," may be an annoying snarky catch phrase, but that's exactly what's happened with nearly every business that ventured into the culture war.
@@zullumaster123 There's a reason they lost the license. It was getting ridiculous at the end. It started off great but then went off the rails.
Too many different comics. If I can't be bothered with one, I might as well not be bothered with any of them.
Each series is stand alone. You don't have to read Void Rivals to understand what's happening in Transformers. Reading all the series enriches the whole experience but you don't have to read them all.
if your attention span and reading skill is so bad that you can't be bothered with a collective total of 60 pages per month then you need serious help
Guess now you know how I feel about when I never got into G1 to begin with lol.
Four books a month is too much? If you can't be bothered with one then why bother commenting at all?
@@stankyyboi In his defense maybe he doesn't want to spend 20 dollars a month on comics or he's already buying other books and doesn't want to add on an additional 4 books. Or maybe he's burned by comic crossover events so he's hesitant to commit to a now crossover universe. Or maybe he hasn't read any of the book and doesn't yet know how good the quality is.
Now I really like the Energon Universe and I do hope more people read it, but it's his choice and his money if he wants to. Maybe he will later, and maybe he won't. But I don't think telling him he needs help when we don't know his situation is the kindest thing to do.
I am No longer Interested In the Image Comics /Skybound Energon comic book Univese ! The New the Transformers / G.I.Joe comic books look very dark, depressing, and violent ! I do NOT like the new dark tone for the new Skybound the Transformers / G.I.Joe comic books. The new Image Comics/ Skybound the Transformers/ G.I.Joe comic books are, obviously, for a younger audience, and NOT for the older Transformers / G.I.Joe fans, who remember the 1980's. I am No longer Interested In the Image Comics / Skybound Energon Universe - the Transformers / G.I.Joe comic books.
LOVE GI JOE and LOVE Transformers but HATE them being in the same universe, NO THANK YOU
Gotta read the books. They're good.
