Adding Loc Extensions to Microlocks

- took my undercut FOREVER to grow back in my struggle patch and even now, the growth is slow and weird in that area 💁🏾♀️
This client initially had no plans to lock his hair, but the tension from cornrow styles up top was not healthy for his texture and desire to retain his healthy hair, so we locked it. Over time, he realized he wanted more stylability for his man-bun and pull-back looks, so we devised a plan to grow the sides for an additional row or two of locs to be installed. Problem was...the mini afro that comes with waiting for new growth to be locked means camaflouging it with the existing locs which can limit your options and have you looking unkempt when you prefer a more refined finish. So, we opted to extend the locs until they grow out or he gets tired of it all and cuts them off.
We're experimenting, but so far so good and we'll see how they progress over time.
PSA ON EXTENSIONS; In MY experience, extended locs do not behave the same as your own locs...EVEN WHEN USING HUMAN HAIR. Extensions tend to be stiffer and will not hold curls and waves the same way your own hair does. There are some work arounds I suppose, but I rarely see people talking about this and if you're aiming to get a head full of extensions, make sure you're clear about styling limitations during your consultation before you spend that money!
I do not offer extensions services. I only did these because the client is my hubby and he loves when I play in his hair lol.🥰
We do the ol' school porch set up where he sits on the floor and leans back you know where lol.
Mind ya business😊
