Why would they play funk at a hip hop event? He knew what he was signing up for when he went there. An even still they played a whole bunch of different tracks, reggae, trap, old school rap, soul, r&b, edm. The tracks are picked at random, he got luck of the draw for the the round.
Hip hop and bboying are totally different, none is better than the other completely. Hip hop dancers tend to have better musicality whereas bboys often are more physically advanced. However this is the "All Styles" Fusion concept where all forms of dancing are welcome to perform, also don't use music as an excuse to say it isn't a battle. A good dancer no matter what style will be able to adapt and dance to whatever they hear. Neguin had the power moves in this battle but he just didn't execute them in time with the beats that's where Rubix beat him and is the reason why he won. There was no insult to bboy culture either in what way did Rubix insult bboying at all? He just expressed that Neguin wasn't listening that well to the rhythm and beats of the song

To be completely honest here I'm not liking how the dancing community is going at this year to summarize it all just to keep it short if they want to physically hurt people these people needs to change to dancing to ufc fighters just saying

It is in its origin, obviously without physical blows but provoking itself is part of the battle, because if you do not like that, you should follow other types of dancers who are not in confrontations and that everything is peace ... if those dancers like you should follow youtuber dancers, with their edited dances or you will see prepared dance shows and not battles.
