I find the hardest thing to “clean up” is doing something with the fabrics leftover from a major quilting project. Need to clean these up in order to start a new project!❤ Congratulations Billy!

You may have touched on this already….but, I’d love to hear how you hang all your quilts in your homes! The ability to swap with different size quilts without making more holes in the wall would be great.

I have a neighbor with several quilt tops from a now deceased relative. I took one and had to stitch new hexagons over 3 that were shredding and I had a fabric that went well with the top and quilted and bound it for her. She washed it on gentle and loves how it turned out.

Your talk about different styles of cleaning styles reminded me of the Clutter Bug (on you tube) - she talks about different styles of how we keep our things I.e. ladybug, butterfly, bee and cricket-there is a quiz you can take to see which organizing style you have. It’s interesting to take. Love your podcast -

Loved this episode. I'm also sort of the middle organized child. Actually, I'm one of 10 but there was 1 boy, then 3 girls, then 5 boys, and the youngest is a girl. I am the middle of the 3 girls and I was always the one cleaning up and organizing. My mom actually had to move me to share a room with the youngest girl because I was always getting after my other two sisters to clean up. Unfortunately, the youngest ended up being the messiest. I love when my sewing room is all organized and clean. But it is sometimes a wreck!

Instead of keeping fabric bundles, make a mini quilt. Just cut each fabric in small squares, sew the colors rainbow style then put in a picture frame and hang. Then you can see them everyday and enjoy.

❤️. Oh how I love watching your videos. It puts a smile on my face for the whole day. I have yet to find my perfect way of organizing my sewing. But I’m getting there. Just bought some containers to store my scraps 2 1/2, 3 1/2 squares and so on. It’s a start. Have a great week. ❤

I'm still watching but wanted to comment before I forget! I also had a double wedding ring top I got at an estate sale. It was made with a green background where this one is red. I'd never seen one made with green. I've had it for several years & while trying to go thru tops & culling out items in my sewing room, I came across it. I did have some unbleached muslin & used that for the backing. Had it quilted & while I was adding the binding noticed a few spots of brown on it. I washed it in the washing machine & almost all came out. Of course, after the washing, the quilt now looks more puckered & "old". It was hand pieced & I wouldn't have even attempted washing it in the tub for fear of it coming apart in places 😊 I love it so much & now use it on the back of the couch!!

I am finding myself not motivated when my space is not clean. Once I start cleaning, I also find myself parting with fabrics and scraps. Then I will start moving furniture around. When I'm done is when I will potentially start new quilt top. Somewhere in the middle of all this I do work on a "small project. 😊

I tidy up my sewing room at the end of sewing time each day. I like walking into the room the next day and seeing it is organized and ready to start sewing again. I like to start with a "clean slate". I find that doing it this way only takes a few minutes if I do it every day. Otherwise, it can be a bit daunting to have to clean it after it's been let go. Chelsi, I am with you on trimming half square triangles. Is there any way to NOT have to do this?? Love your designs. Hoping we might see some patterns using precuts in the future.

Do what Kimberly Jolly Does, pay your children to do "quilty things" Chelsi are any of your children old enough to help with anything quilting? Like trimming? Chelsi Alaska has more depressed people in the late fall and winter than any other state becuse of the darkness. Many of them get "Sunshine Lights" that simulate daybreak, mornings and and afternoons with Sunshine in your house to help despell depression.
