I don't watch the show, per se, but odd bits that spring up here, when I am muddling through car stuff, are such a great little break from the world. There is a casual precision to the show, like Seinfeld's 'stand up,' that is seamless, like a soap bubble in the wind.
This may be the best performance by Jerry that I have ever seen. He has honoured Julia with a speech that was fluid, warm and clearly demonstrates the depth of his fondness for her. He is genuinely full of joy and pride at Julia's success. This is in Stark contrast to the cynical, jaded, (still very funny) character Jerry - and the other three - presented in the show. Perhaps he can act, just a little, after all.
Frank Barbaro He’s married and has children. Jerry in the show wouldn’t have ever gotten married nor had children (if he could help it). So I’d say he’s quite different in reality versus comedy.

Cannot believe Jerry hasn't gotten this award. Hands down the funniest stand-up CLEAN comedian I've ever seen live...not to mention the creator of arguably the best sitcom of all time.
Well said - Clean comedians are hard to come by these days... Jerry is clean and respectful of others... His show on Netflix - Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee - show how for real he is and how great he is at interacting with fans. The episode he had coffee with Ellen shows very clearly why he is still going and she is offline, actually, the episode with Ellen was hard to watch - so bitter and neurotic about everything... Jerry tried the best he could to save it, but it was hard to watch regardless... The episode with Julia, however, was hilarious - Julia is adorable and it was fun and relaxing to watch and have some coffee with them...
Jerry is like fine wine ..he gets better with age ...and I love the fact he is MEGA wealthy and acts like a utterly normal guy ...that takes talent AND respect ..he is a true person in every way ....
Ehhh, I recall an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffe, where he like cuts some guy in line or something and claims he owes him because Jerry gave him years of entertainment on TV. Though it was a complete stranger, maybe he'd never even watched Seinfeld. He doesn't come off normal to me, go check his mansion.
@@AdamBechtol It's the episode with Bill Maher. A guy offered Jerry a parking spot in front of a restaurant, and he accepted it. And Bill says he refuses people who offer him to cut in line at the bathroom. Jerry said he would take it if offered. Then he made the joke you are referring to. What a horror!
Jerry, Realized that he was never an actor so he surrounded himself with many exceptional actors such as Julia, Jason, Michael, and the many others that played key roles in the success of Seinfeld. They always say that Jerry has all the money and that may be true, however he has shared that by launching all these amazing actors to stardom from HIS show on NBC. He and Larry were up for hours writing and creating scenes then Jerry would have to show up early for the read then off to the set they go. I never thought there would ever be a television show that beat all others and Seinfeld did that just by being himself..
When the other characters asked for a share of the syndication gains, Jerry, who was part of the production and so should be looking at costs, pushed for them to get it.
Absolute perfect speech by Jerry. Julia Louis-Dreyfus definitely #1 sitcom actor of all time. How many emmys? 8 ? --And she's won for every show she's ever done. She's the Tom Brady of sitcoms. Even MORE successful than Tom Brady
MORE successful than Tom Brady?!? More successful than Tom Brady... *sigh* You absolute goon. Julia was born rich. She was born into a family more wealthy than 99.9% of people on Earth. She was on SNL. She was already on tv. She already had the world by the balls by virtue of where and when she was born. It also wasn't her show. She didn't have to Produce. She didn't have to write it. She had little to no say so in any of its' inner workings. Tom Brady has won more Super Bowls than any other Quarterback in the entire history of Football. Over 100 years of Football games, and not one other person alive, or who has ever lived, can say that. Julia acted on a tv show she had nothing else to do with... It's people like you who really scare me. Weirdo sycophants. Letting emotion override facts. The world has enough people like you already, we don't need anymore.
I agree. I also loved seeing so many of my favorite comedians sitting in the audience to honor Julia Louis-Dreyfus, all smiling at Seinfeld's sweet tribute to his dear friend and co-star. The fact that Julia remains physically stunning without obvious surgery and without looking Hollywood-fake only makes her even more amazing. My own breast cancer diagnosis coincided with her public announcement that she'd been diagnosed; I was in the hospital after a bad reaction to my first chemo and was watching my own long hair fall out in clumps when she tweeted her bad news. Weirdly, it made me feel better to know that illness doesn't care about TV-star money and fame, and that an Emmy wouldn't have prevented this cancer, which in my case was a total shock (I'm a young non-smoker, have no family history, and am brca negative). Though I didn't make a point of following her progress I hope - since now I'm okay - that Julia too is firmly in the "survivor pool" of former breast cancer patients. I hope that, like me, she too will eventually be able to look back at 2017/2018, remember how awful it was, and just be grateful we got through it.
yada yada. Elaine: "We went to my place.....And yada yada , I never heard from him again." Jerry: " But, you yada yada-ed over the best part." Elaine: "No, I mentioned the bisque."
@2:21 you can see something so wholesome take place. Jerry, as seen throughout the entirety of Seinfeld, is not a good actor. You can see how intrinsically connected they are, and feel such a tangible sense of comradery and kinship. It is so apparent how much they love each other. What an incredible friendship.
@@gullybop1695 Cousin Oliver was brought in for the last season of the Brady Bunch as a way to spruce up the show, kind of like they did with Growing Pains or Family Ties. What a beautiful tribute. Appreciate how great of a show Seinfeld is and Julia is one of the key chains that holds the show together alongside Jerry Seinfeld and the rest of the amazing cast.
LOL! "It's only a couple more hours." After Seinfeld said that during his intro, immediately the "Seinfeld" episode came to mind where "Elaine" was high from pain meds, but, she'd had to meet with Jerry's "parents" for several days during that time.
@@Ericwvb2 Yeah, that was a line from that episode. But, I was thinking about that part after "Elaine" hurt her back and Jerry was trying to convince her that being with his "parents" on the episode wouldn't take that long, because of all the things that would subtract from the time while they were there. To greatly minimize the situation, I think Jerry finally said to "Elaine," after he'd minimized their actual time there by more and more, she'd only actually have to be with Jerry's "parents" for, "59 minutes," while they'd actually have to be there for several days. LOL!
Watched Seinfeld from the first show and loved it ever since. Had some stressful stuff in the nineties, and Seinfeld was my weekly escape. Julie was a silly sweetheart and the rest of the cast was great.
Ho appena finito di guardare tutta la serie, di in botto, e posso dire che mi manca già, come mi é mancata quando é finita nel 1999. Per me, la migliore di sempre.
Little did Jerry know that the aspect of impossibly maintaining a tightknit friendship with an ex made him Super natural in the eyes of viewers. It also gave many of us false hope as well.
"This person is a network note!" Julia had said about the success of 'Seinfeld' that it was lightning in a bottle. There were SO many things that just fell into place, making this show work and bang on all cylinders. Some of the things that just fell into place, specifically concerning Julia becoming Elaine: Her and Larry David both didn't enjoy their time on SNL. Network note: "need a female character." Larry suggests Julia to Jerry. Jerry and Julia have great chemistry. Julia loves the material. Her dynamic with the rest of the cast is equally phenomenal. Boom! Lightning in a bottle. (Plus, she's just a fantastic actress and performer-which of course doesn't hurt.)
JLD might not be a comedic genius in the same way jerry or tina fay are. But her timing is second to none. Im rewatching the entire Seinfeld series on netflix and she has perfect timing and perfect delivery.

@@mrchopsticks3 I didn't get the "Brady bunch" line either.
@@gullybop1695 Cousin Oliver was brought in for the last season of the Brady Bunch as a way to spruce up the show, kind of like they did with Growing Pains or Family Ties. He might be the most notorious "network note" as most Brady Bunch fans can't stand him. If you don't know the Brady Bunch, then you wouldn't get it.
She always looks like a happy funny woman.. Love her laughter... Contagious!
Well, she is talented, loving, beautiful and she comes from an insane pile of cash in the family. Bet she is a happy person 😊
Class. Humanity. Love. Respect.
What a beautiful tribute. Appreciate how great of a show Seinfeld is and Julia is one of the key chains that holds the show together alongside Jerry Seinfeld and the rest of the amazing cast.
The woman with THE most contagious laugh ever, still makes me laugh out loud, even though i’ve seen the show a million times 🥰
LOL! "It's only a couple more hours." After Seinfeld said that during his intro, immediately the "Seinfeld" episode came to mind where "Elaine" was high from pain meds, but, she'd had to meet with Jerry's "parents" for several days during that time.
Stellaaaaaa!
LOL!
Plus there's the commercials, intermissions... it's a half hour tops.
Take the pen!
@@charlescainv5722 LOL!
this speech is only five minutes...but he conveys so much information in the time span that it feels longer.. Really excellent public speaking...
Jerry is a class act! Congratulations, Julia, on your award, you deserve it!!!
A wonderful compliment from one of the best. Julia must be very proud.
Julia is a gem, what a damn talent, as a comedian AND a talented actress she deserves all of this and more.
Great overview by Jerry sharing how one of the true strengths of “Seinfeld” was based on JLD talent, charm and synergy as an actor within the series.
Seinfeld wow........a whole chapter of my life! 🇮🇪
Watched Seinfeld from the first show and loved it ever since. Had some stressful stuff in the nineties, and Seinfeld was my weekly escape.
Julie was a silly sweetheart and the rest of the cast was great.
Brilliant speech! I can’t get enough of this night!! Love both of them! ❤️❤️
"He took. . . it. . . out."
Such a crazy high level speech jerry has, so interesting seeing so many crafters in the audience gaining this masterclass from jerry
Seinfeld is the best thing ever happened in history of the television.
Cosby > Seinfeld
How about the Honeymooners ? Most of Seinfeld is a rip off of Gleason - tom
@@ChengMcGoldstein That aged well.
That was beautiful. True friends. Wonderful words.
@0:07 Jerry's "I Love you, let''s have fun" look shows how well they know each other, and I'm glad we got to see it!
My all-time favorite comedian ever! Thank you, Jerry, for being you.
He is so funny and sincerely a nice guy. I met him at DreamWorks Animation. Great person.
1 of the best tv shows of all time
Ho appena finito di guardare tutta la serie, di in botto, e posso dire che mi manca già, come mi é mancata quando é finita nel 1999. Per me, la migliore di sempre.
What a genius. That beautiful monologue about one person without one innuendo.
And she's a combination of cute and funny which results in sexy
Son Of Dad Fixed it. Thanks!
Was there banging on Seinfeld ?? Maybe I should start watching the reruns.
"Her...didn't enjoy" Tonto, is that you?
David Savian banging? Like sex?
JLD might not be a comedic genius in the same way jerry or tina fay are. But her timing is second to none. Im rewatching the entire Seinfeld series on netflix and she has perfect timing and perfect delivery.
+1 an incredible comedic performer
Loved the New Adventures of old Christine...
So sweet! I LOVE what Jerry said about Julia... "Simple! I really really liked Julia...! Didn't require any acting! I genuinely liked her!" Awww how so sweet! Love that!
God damn Julia looks as gorgeous as ever
Smart funny women are uber sexy!
Jerry always has amazing speeches. He gets it.
Going to be 30 years of Seinfeld this show still makes me Laugh hard and will Forever
Seinfeld is my favorite tv show of all time by far the best show ever Elaine was definitely a home run I can’t see her as anything other then that character
Jerry´s way of saying what we all know, Julia is huge for commedy and a definitive force for women in movies and tv
