Hi Steve Nice video. Regarding race pace. My bread and butter session was 100 2mins 200 2mins 300. All from start line aiming building to race pace closer to the main track season. In winter I would do this x3 in spring x 2 summer just once. To hit my race pace I needed to be 1 sec under each run by summer. So for you that would be 14s,28s,42secs or thereabouts. I always reckoned I need those extra 4 secs for the last 100 as you will never do a negative split. Once I hit my target times in this session I usually ran a reasonably good race. Once you have done that session a few times you just feel the pace without any reference to a watch which helps enormously when you do race. My current target for this session next week is 19 38 57 x 3. Let’s hope the weather holds Steve
Hi Steve, just subscribed. I just got back to training for the 400 as well after a 26 year break. I’m a masters sprinter now in the 40-45 group. Good luck on the journey!
