They have some RDCs in the viarail toronto yard as well as a LRC and an old canadian car from the 80s i see them when i take the go train to toronto but none are in service i think there owner is rapedio
Should be important to note that WES actually runs exclusively on the OE. West of CP Farmington (MP 28) on the Lombard spur to BTC (MP 27.5) is OE territory. CP Farmington (MP 28 = MP 755.4) westbound towards Hillsboro is Tillamook District track. Nice video! I haven't had the chance to ride the RDCs yet...seems like they're always using the DMUs when I'm riding...
I am compiling a video of passenger rail in the United States: I have not had a chance to film this system and was wondering if I could use 30 seconds of your footage? I would be more than happy to list your channel as credits under the description once I upload the video.
It is kinda funny watching buses fly by this train. Don't even know why it is still in service, costs 19 bucks per ride and barely anyone rides it. It is sucking money from TriMet
I have to disagree about barely anybody riding it. I just recently rode WES on a commute up to Portland. I rode during a peak time, and nearly every seat on a two car train was occupied. Same story on the return trip.
Great video I love those cars / trains from the old Budds to the newer DMUs..
+Liberty Railfan Productions Thank you!
PNWRailfan yup
My favorite train ride!
It is a neat train. Thanks for watching!
Bobby Case Loves Trains Same man
like to see something different then same old bombardier cars and locomotive commuter train
I agree. Thanks for watching!
I always forget that the Portland Metro area does actually have a heavy commuter rail line.
Great video Nic, cool to see something a bit different from freight and Amtrak.
Thanks Noah!
These FRA compliant sets are a monstrosity. TriMet should install the necessary signalling and seek a waiver, ASAP, in order to run more modern sets.
I rode this with my mom! It was fun
Loved seeing that RDC.VIA Rail also uses the RDC locomotives!
Not Anymore.

2017-2020 Nostalgia 😥

Whoops! Thanks for the correction. Yes I would assume the RDC's are in normal operation now. They were running three different trains yesterday.
did you know that the bogies are based off the bombardier multi level from coaster
Very nice video!!
+Northwest Rail Productions Thanks Andrey!
congrats on 250 subs
Thanks!
The RDC Budd cars have a GO Horn..
GO's horns sound like poorly-autotuned dying gooses. These did not sound like poorly-autotuned dying gooses.
Wrong GO Horn. I'm not talking about the foul K5LA ones
ModernForever Sounds like for BLUE ES44AC's CREX horn!! I LOVE THESE!!
That’s not a K5CA-LS. There are 3 bells.

Good catches!
+Nathan Tidwell likes trains Thanks!
WES actually stands for "Westside Express Service", not " Western Area Exrpress".
Budd rdc is awesome
666 subscribers.
YOU ARE A MONSTER! (i'm expecting a "Goddamit Ross" from all grumps fans).
what kind of horns are used on the dmus & rdcs
DMU's use K3LA's I believe. Not sure about the Budd's.

The DMU Light Rail Got American Nathan K3LA AirChime horn
The Budd Cars Had Canadian Nathan K3LL Airhorn
@@PNWRailfan i think they are new cast p3 air horn
a question if i may,?? , are these budd rdcs the only ones in scheduled service in the usa?
+allan egleston I believe so. There may be a similar service somewhere with these cars, but not sure. They certainly aren't common.
i encourag you to make more wes videos
+Nathan Hanyon I may in the future.
i think the BTC spur is on the O&E line
+PTC 100 Might be idk
Awesome catches!!! I have yet to film the WES and ride the RDC's. Also, why no horn in downtown Beaverton??
Honestly I'm not sure. Could be a QZ, but idk.
it isn't a quiet zone, although the residents around the WES plan for 99% of the crossings to be a quiet zone.
Trains N' Stuff they Blair the horn during peak in DWNTWN Beaverton all the time it's just during the day, not exactly sure why though
@@PNWRailfan some time they use k3la horns
19 a ride omg
i saw rdc,s last night
witch hapened to be the same day i got an HO scale rdc train at tammy,s hobby shope
Nathan Hanyon Nice. They run everyday. They're pretty neat.
yes they are .a coincidence that i saw the train 5 minute,s after i got the HO scale rdc.
Po co tyle łomotu?

Can anyone guess the numbers?
Just know trimet does not drive them at all
It's P&W crews.

i was always disappointed that they didn't ever extend it to Salem. (maybe it has something to do with P&W?)
