Amtrak was moving equipment to LA in response to the mud slides in Santa Barbara and the closing of US 101. They are adding extra server between Santa Barbara and Ventura.

Great & awesome video of my most favorite Amtrak route which is the Coast Starlight/Pacific Surfliner that I travel on between San Diego, Los Angeles & Oxnard. The value of having passenger train service was proven when the 3 engines and some San Joaquin & Capital Corridor train cars were going to Los Angeles to help out the Pacific Surfliners while U.S.101 was closed due to the mud slides near Santa Barbara. It showed how important passenger train service really is.

Peter Karig I watch the drone videos of the Coast Starlight being followed in the San Luis Obispo, CA area. I one day plan to do an N gauge model railroad of the Southern Pacific now Union Pacific Coast route. I already have an Amtrak Superliner N gauge train set of 2 engines, a baggage car, & 7 Superliner cars and some track for a starter.

4:15 - 4:35 you can see the entire consist. Also I'm sure the reason why this vid is heavy on loco shots is due to the special circumstances of the 5 engines. You want the vid a certain way? ... then buy a "damned drone" and make your own.
