Recent data from the NCRB reveals a startling trend: crime against women has surged by 26.35% from 2016 to 2021. Moreover, India's ranking of 128th out of 177 countries in the 'Women Peace and Security Index' underscores the challenges women face in our society.
Consider this: in 2021 alone, an average of 86 women were raped every single day, with 46 offences against women occurring every hour. These statistics aren't just numbers; they are the pain and suffering endured by countless women across our nation.
Meet Shaheen, an NGO that is on a mission to empower women who have faced exploitation. Their approach is holistic, focusing on every aspect of a survivor's journey towards recovery and empowerment.
From providing avenues for financial independence to imparting knowledge about their rights, educating them on self-defence, and instilling a sense of dignity and self-worth, Shaheen is transforming lives.
