i keep them for crab bait they work very well right up there with reef fish frames and chooks. put it in a plastic bag and freeze the whole thing and cut it in to 4 baits when frozen with a wood panel saw, no smell or mess.
We take one or two when we’re low on crab bait. I cut off the spines, freeze them then cut them into pieces with a reciprocating saw. Then load up the bait holder and keep the bait fresh.
