They were an amazing band. I saw them at the Cockpit, Leeds, supporting editors. It was a tiny venue so we chatted to Scott afterwards. He was really sweet and seemed surprisingly shy for a frontman. Good times.
I like my loneliness and the thoughts it brings The darkness can sometimes be a pleasure to me I stand around on the outside of it peering from the edge Looking for the answers to the questions I'll never ask It's from this place we'll find our peace And reconcile our bitterness We have to We have to Break, break, break, break Washed away Washed away It's from this loneliness and the fear it brings That new doors can open up and be a saviour to me So i'll open my mind, open my heart It's the only way to breathe It's the static of the lights, she said So don't panic No, don't panic It's from this place we'll find our peace And reconcile our emptiness We have to We have to Break, break, break, break Washed away Washed away (It's just a trick of the light, she says) Washed away (Don't panic, don't panic)
Saw these guys with Mute Math and Somebody Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin at the Chicago House of Blues in something like 2007 or 2008. Cinematics opened and were by far the best band. Lovely.
How these boys slipped under the radar back in 2007 with this, their debut Album defies belief??!??? - 'A Strange Education' is quite simply a spectacular masterpiece. Fact.

Not many people will see this comment but i feel i must write it. I have been listening to this type of music for a while now, and i can't help but ask myself... what is truly good music or is it just purely subjective with a wide horizon. To me, this music sounds incredible, some of the best ive ever heard, it's sad to hear these guys aint around no more. I was always taught with hard work comes success. Ladies and gentlemen , i am just not seeing that in the world of music. Ask your self how a social media platform like tik tok makes a small song blow up but the others stay at the bottom. So what is actual good music, well to me its this, but to other people its Cardi B for example. I can hear the effort and heart in these guys music, especially this song . music is just loosing the heart it had, you can hear it dont lie to yourself. To see the views and streams on this band and others just like it it just shocking, how true good music is just not popular. Now is there any point in alll this, no.. no there is not, but its mental to think about isint it? Anyway, idc what music you listen to but im just saying or rather asking HOW TF ARE THESE GUYS SO UNPOPPULAR. not many people will see this but if you do id love to hear your opinion, anyway happy listening
I like. Never would've heard of this band if I hadn't been listening to Katatonia... still not really my type of music, but I gotta say, this isn't too bad at all.
@@gabriellarsen5861 nem sabia que tinha um terceiro álbum. Uma pena. Gostava da banda Editors e um aplicativo me indicou o The Cinematics, bons tempos.

Still loving this song in 2022 🧡
i miss them so much
I like my loneliness and the thoughts it brings
The darkness can sometimes be a pleasure to me
I stand around on the outside of it peering from the edge
Looking for the answers to the questions I'll never ask
It's from this place we'll find our peace
And reconcile our bitterness
We have to
We have to
Break, break, break, break
Washed away
Washed away
It's from this loneliness and the fear it brings
That new doors can open up and be a saviour to me
So i'll open my mind, open my heart
It's the only way to breathe
It's the static of the lights, she said
So don't panic
No, don't panic
It's from this place we'll find our peace
And reconcile our emptiness
We have to
We have to
Break, break, break, break
Washed away
Washed away
(It's just a trick of the light, she says)
Washed away
(Don't panic, don't panic)

I hope they reform someday. I'm Colombian so no chance for me to ever see them live unless I moved somewhere closer to them lmao
I'm Italian, I saw them live in Milan, I think in 2008 or 2009, a great show, very intense.
Just like Ambulance LTD

WE HAVE TO
WE HAVE TO

Amazing sound, love the cinematics
Pudieron haber sido grandes como INTERPOL Y THE KILLERS....
most underrated band in the world currently

the sound of his voice doesnt match his face!
Alternative Rock is the best

Spoiler alert:
What's the deal with the Ned Flanders looking guy shutting off the light at the end of the video?
Is that Chris Cain, bassist of We are Scientists at 1:13?
big respect from Russian music lovers
These guys are the new Psychadelic Furs
"I LIKE MY LONELINESS"

How I wish this album was released as a vinyl record. 😔
The singer is so hot!!!

@DrMikeAtService
that is him rite it looks a fuck load like him i sure it is
they went on tour with them so who knows
Is it me or does it seem like it's becoming a trend to state how much people hate the video but not the song?
@thomasko41 what a shame, one hit wonder
Haven't listened to this in at least a decade and just got an itch to hear it again out of nowhere. It holds up pretty good
Then you should have noticed that its the 1st sentence he sings.
it is
Interesting. I think it sounds a bit like Muse.
@nocleopatra agreed, they really do =P
LOL have you heard about sociopaths?
Have you listen to this song? ;)
Block Party
