I'm so happy to see so many putting tributes to Buddy on YT these days. Kiki Ebsen is also a talented daughter & has a channel here too with tributes to her dad.
@@tubablaine Not really a stunning beauty when young, but fairly good looking. Early roles usually had her teamed as a friend of a totally gorgeous woman. She'll always be "America's Granny"!
Vilma Ebsen appeared in a c. 1951 TV spot on "You Asked for It," which was on RUclips some time ago. Any chance that this could be found and posted? Thanks.
In your otherwise fine video, you did make one mistake: Buddy Ebsen DID appear in one scene in "The Wizard of Oz," as the captain of the Wicked Witch's guard. Thankfully, he had managed to recover from his nearly fatal reaction to the makeup as the Tinman, to be recast in the smaller part as the head guardsman. He even got to say the immortal line, "All hail to Dorothy! The Wicked Witch is dead!"
weird thing about those old B&W movies: everybody looked like stick figures. see any Frank Sinatra film. an average guy now would be a tubby chubby back then.
Steven Torrey You’re right but was it brought up in the video. That is like saying I like days off from school, but it’s no good compared to summer break. A day off from school is still good. Appreciate him.

Correction . Yes he did appear in the movie . He played a guard and is seen after the Wicked Witch is killed .
Oh really? I don't recall hearing that before, and will look for him next time. THANKS!
They sure could dance!!
I’m a proud FSU grad, and especially the week before thanksgiving, that he’s the only Gator I like.
I didn't know Jed Clampet did song-and-dance. Next I'll hear Granny could yodel and play the fiddle at the same time!
Check out early pics of "granny" a stunningly beautiful Lady.

Wow scissor legs.
As good as he was, there is simply no comparison with Fred Astaire.

But this video is about Buddy, not Fred.
