REPLAYING.DE - REVIVING GAMES SINCE 2010
This is 25 years old! What an amazing game. Those devs and the artists made something happen.
Indeed. This one is the hands down the most memorable game I've ever played since early 90's. Plot, animations, music, speech, characters it's all so well done and before it's time. I don't know if it is, but to me I get some Tarantino movie style vibe from I76's cut scenes. Anyway, absolutely marvelous title and such a shame it didn't sell enough to become lasting franchise.
@@jothain Actually, it did. i76 won many awards and was VERY popular in the late 90's. The online community was thriving like no other. A major studio even bought the movie rights to Interstate '76 and a movie was going to be made! It was the developer, Activision, that forced a sequel right away. That was to be the aborted Interstate '77. i77 got hacked to pieces and was hastily released as the i76 Nitro Pack. It's been so long I can't remember what controversy sparked first. It was around the time it was decided to make the sequel take place in the 1980's and on a completely new game engine that a whole bunch of the original team left. Some names I can recall who were instrumental with i7 were Sean Vesce and Scott Krager. I think there was a third dude, too and they were essentially the Holy Trinity of the Interstate Universe.
It was i82 that shit the bed and was a buggy, incomplete, rushed to market mess. It sold 1/3rd of what i76 did and even though Activision were the ones who forced the unfinished mess to market; they basically said "Oh well. The sequel tanked. That's the end of that." It's almost like they wanted it to fail. Notice they've done NOTHING with the I.P. in over 20 years.
Мега Крутая игра! Обажаю её! Музыка вообще космос!!!
This game was trying to recreate a style from roughly 20 years before it's publication. It's been 26 years now since it's creation. This means it's been a longer period since the game was actually made than the period it was trying to recreate when it was produced.
"...Feeling old yet?"
I probably put 2500+ hours in to this game back in the 90's. such a hella fun game. multiplayer was a blast, too!
This is one of the best games ever made. The soundrack, the story, the graphics (back then). Masterpiece for sure.
The music in this game was absolutely bangin', great memories
Agree, I still have the bonus cd that came with it.
Yesss
was just gonna comment on the music, so cool ... used to be my very first computer game ever
It was a supergroup! From Wikipedia:
For the game's soundtrack, a session band was formed under the name Bullmark. It consisted of various musicians, all from well-known acts, such as Arion Salazar from Third Eye Blind on bass, Brain from Primus on drums, Tom Coster from Santana on keyboards, David Shul from Spearhead on guitars, Les Harris from The Ritz on horns, Jon Bendich from Starpoint on percussion, and was produced by Jason Slater and engineered by Eric Valentine.
No it isnt. In 1976, music wasnt banging...it was 'hip'.
Used to play this in multiplayer with my couzin over 25 years ago.
Like Duke Nukem 3D, Doom and very first Quake.
Wat a blast!
Watching for the nostalgia. This game needs another sequel!
Definitely. It's aged perfectly too.
Funny thing it actually did get a sequel called Interstate ‘82, which was kind of a downgrade but it was fine
Mannnn this game needs a show it’s a hidden legend, I remember sneaking to play this all night when I was little. Couldn’t get enough
I spent endless hours rampaging through the Texas desert blowing s**t up and loved every minute of it!
Amazing game. Played it a lot 25 years ago. Great memories.
This game was, is, and always will be a classic.
One of the very best scores for a video game. I still listen to it.
I really like the night time levels. There's something weirdly serene about cruising down a highway in the desert while it's dark.
This game was criminally underrated.
Ahhh takes me back - I used to just park the car and listen to the music. The sequel couldn’t compare.
Same up on the bridges and use the binoculars to scout around, a few tunes, quick poem from Taurus and then back to business.
My music teacher lent me this game to copy in late '97. In addition to loading it on my Gateway P5-166, I also figured out it would work in my Sony boombox and recorded the soundtrack onto tapes. My music teacher yelled at me since he thought the CD player laser would damage the discs, but he's in prison now.
wow that escalated quickly
One of my favorite games! So great to see it again.
I remember my friend and I playing this game the first time. Horace's strut when we walks out of the convenient store just cracked us up so much. My fav game of all time probably.
This game was so far ahead of it's time. The programming, sound effects and music score were top notch.
Most games in the time were. Today is a different story
Everything is right, but I disagree with the programming part...that was due to the already dated and updated engine. It ran rather poorly on hardware of that era (spring '97).
The production levels on this game was off the scale for the day. I remember playing this, Need For Speed 1 and GTA 1 on my PC at the time
My favourite game from 90s.
I miss the 90's I was in middle school when this game was out I used to play multi-player night and day during the summer months
I used to take the play disc with me to school and listen to it all day until I could get home and play.
If there's a game that demands a remake it's this one. Maybe a movie directed by Tarantino too, or at least a series on Netflix, dreaming is free... I only had "Nitro riders" that I loved, but my PC was weak and struggled to run the game at the time, especially the terrain textures.
Damn this build you're using is so strong, I remember struggling a lot in later missions. Great play!
аж прослезился в канун нового '22 года =\ игра шедевр своего времени
да она и сейчас реальней некоторых современных! А качество озвучки, сценарных ролевых вставок и музыки создают Ахрененную атмосферы команды!!!
Can't believe this came out in 1976. Great graphics! For the time...
true :-D
The Fallout game that came out the same year looks a lot better, even if it is a bit buggy
This game.. is still way ahead of its time.
Also the Spyhunter vibes on some of these levels were off the chain so to speak. Especially the part with the truck.
I'll never forget this game it was one that secured my feels for gaming on the windows '95 computer. And later I understand what this game spoke of ......now we're in 2023 and this seems to ring true in politics....just wow 😲
One of these guitar licks pops in my head from time to time, must've played this when I was under 10 years old. Found the name of the game with A.I. at least 25 years later 😅
Used to play this on a Packard Bell 166Mghz...16MB EDO ram. It ran well surprisingly. Great game. Lots of fun.
Loved this game! Brings back memories of what was next gen games! multiplayer was amazing! Probably responsible for all the Twisted Metal games.
I remember playing this until way past midnight. Such a great game, never finished it though.
I love this game, the first time I launched it, my jaw just dropped, a very atmospheric game, and it wasn’t a game then for us teenagers, it was most likely like a full-fledged interactive movie, a very rare genre, this was done only once again with the WingСomander series , TigerHeart is simply amazing!
Sorry for my English.
Неплохая была игрушка, конечно.
I'd love to see this redone.
Oh absolutely. I'd trade any recent remake for getting good I76 game.
@@jothain There is interstate 82 ;)
@@isymdvr I've seen some clips about it, but haven't actually tried it. Looked too "arcady" for my liking.
Is there a way to play this masterpiece now?
This game deserves to be fixed for windows 10
Windows 10 deserves to be fixed because of this game
it's been fixed a long time ago... search for "24 FPS fan patch"
and run it with DXWND (CPU limit)
This game is a masterpiece.
The voice acting and motion capture is actually done really well for a game from this time
The funny thing is most of the same cast returned for Interstate 82, and the voice acting for that was terrible in comparison. Same for its cut scenes, which were done by of all places, Blur Studios!
WHAT a soundtrack!!!!!
"Never get out of the car." Heed these words!
I remember playing this game, was very hard for me to figure out... maybe i got the demo version, because i just remember the first stage, back in time i didnt know English, but this game is Epic
talking about epic games i remember one called Cyberia
So Antonio Malochio is voiced by Q. Mind blown!
Pure nostalgia
1:11:08 lol.
"Jesus! They just blew the bridges!"
" I don't care how you cross it, just cross it!"
Really speaks to the quality of a game when it can make people like disco again.
How'd you get it running? I'm having an issue where the game crashes when the overwrite prompt save prompt or that weird "remember to save" reminder appear after mission 2. Can't go further because of it.
The oil slick isused in racing games at the hard turns or going into a turn so they fall over the guardrail over the cliff so you can get away taurus doesnt like it but you can slick him too to keep him safe and outta the way.
Still got that poem memorized
I remember playing the demo and the sound of Jade's death deceptively sounded like a rooster crowing!🤣😂
omg / my lovely game from my childhood
2023! Спустя года, я люблю Интерстате 76 не меньше!!! Надо сделать его ремейк!
I remember playing online multiplayer in this game. this game is what I consider to be the very first battle royale in multiplayer. There was no microphone feature, of course. all the chat was done by pushing Ctrl+T if I remember correctly. you think CoD multiplayer was toxic in 2013? that chat log on i76 was five times worse. 😂 ahh man good times! the campaign was so much fun, too! I played thru this campaign numerous times. thanks for the nostalgia upload! anyone know where to get a version that will work on my Windows 11 system? if so, @ me! I have been wanting to replay this game again, even just the campaign, for 20 years, now.
in your version of the game, do the music tracks Loop on the missions? do you use GOG or Steam version? any tips?
I have been using DXWND and the 24 FPS fan patch 👍
the music in original game was supposed to loop... tracks were not supposed to change in missions... each mission had its own specific music track that simply looped
I just realised the villan Antionio Malochio is voiced by John De Lancie. ('Q' from Star Trek)😊
Carlo DeFungi must be his stage name.
There was a kickstarter or indiegogo that failed unfortunately…. I would pay a lot for a proper remake. Best game ever made!
How did you get the music to play ingame?
Linked guns and great targeting, old pro. The right hand jump is faster though
Im glad they chamged his name from taurus into john torque
Right On Brother. :)
Funny how the woman is in both the game's logo as well as the TV-series-like intro, when she already got killed off in the prologue :/
If you still play can you do the nitro pack?
I still have mines
Furry UwU
No way Borderlands Scooter is a straight Skeeter reference.
I used to drive the Cadillac maxed out with missiles and get one-shot kills in multiplayer if I was lucky, then get accused of hacking. 😂
What a game, what a story. GTA before the GTA. GTA is just a copy of this game.
Hey Stampede...how 'bout a poem?
What's the hotkey to move camera to the target?
Any tutorial, how to make it working?
GOG, DoxBox
Set cycle timers so there are no timing glitches (flamethrowers etc)
If you play this to the end - pick the chopper in the sky .
How this and 82 is not well known Classics?
82 is an arcade parody of this game
stuck on making the jump at fishers field. fuckin stupid ramp keeps slowing me down!!!!
Iirc game has quite good physics. So ditch some of the weapons or other equipment to get faster and lighter car. Plus Nitrous Oxide
You using NOX? Are you using it too soon?
this game was 20 years too early
Awesome
Got this from gog and although it was a great game for its time it’s not as enjoyable as “Interstate 82”.
76 was less far away than 97 was from today... funny
Good game.
everytime i shoot, my game crashes
You skipped some of the best parts of the game.
DAMN!!! WHEN WAS THIS GAME MADE!!? 1976!??? 😬🙄😬😬
Name me any racing game from 1997 with maps at least as big.
@@russianfunkerroma Carmageddon & Need for Speed II.
Did you use dgVoodoo or nGlide to achieve this?
