      My dear brother! This has been a bittersweet situation for our church and yours. Your church and it’s members have been in my prayers. We have truly rejoiced but it hasn’t been without a sting of heartache for your loss. I grew up in the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and have never been to Kirtland so I’m a bit envious of you. May the sweet spirit of the Lord continue to always be with you. Your sister in Christ. 🌸

    This information session has been beyond wonderful! John has so much to share and he is a servant for the Lord all day long. Thank you Scott and John so very much. I have been putting together a quilt for our oldest son (who recently has had some health issues) while listening. Think I need to share Cardio Miracle with him. My husband did not consistently take CM so I took it over. I can only take 1/4 tsp. a day because of how my system works. God bless you and your families. 🦅🇺🇸🦅 C

    I was a little girl baptized in the Church in Lake Erie in 1953. The active members of the Church at that time went to Kirtland frequently for get togethers. My Uncle had a farm to the north of Kirtland in Mentor, Ohio. When I was young the children in our group spent time on the second floor of the temple. President McKay was the prophet at the time of my baptism. While in high school later I became a very good friend of a member of the Reorganized Church and also went with her to the Kirtland Temple. Moved to Utah. Came back again visiting friends in Chardon Ohio just down road east of Kirtland. I was so happy and surprised to attend Church there. What a wonderful blessing.

    President Hinkley was a great prophet. He is right. The Spirit is definitely felt at these historical church sites. My husband joined the church in order to marry me. It was an agreement I made with him. Visiting the Joseph Smith Birthplace he had a very strong experience. Later in our marriage he had similar experiences at the Carthage Jail, and the Independence Visitors center. I believe it's similar to reading the Book of Mormon. It's like reverencing our ancient prophets and attending the temple. The Spirit witnesses the truth of history.

    What a great video! Back in 2000 my husband, 3 youngest children and myself attended a home school conference for eastern LDS home schooling families held in Kirtland. The people in charge of the conference were able to get Bro Anderson to come speak in the Kirtland Temple as part of our conference. What an experience to be sitting in the pews of the temple where some of my ancestors may have sat. We even got an autographed copy of Bro Anderson's book, Joseph Smith's Kirtland. I think by that time Bro Anderson was actually the Stake Patriarch.

    I remember while on my mission the Newell k Whitney store was remodeled and rededicated by president Benson.We were given permission as missionaries to attend the dedication. During the dedication the power of the spirit was palpable, it was so strong. However, at the Kirkland temple it felt cold and empty. The contrast was noticable. Such a small world. I spent my childhood in Rose Park just about 2 or maybe 3 blocks away from Clayton Christensen’s house. My dad was the second counselor in the Rose Park stake at the time. The Christensens were in the same ward and I remember Clayton’s parents very well. Clayton was a year younger so I didn’t interact with him very much. My family moved to the east side of the city when I was 12 or 13 and I lost touch with all my old Rose Park friends. But every time I hear his name many sweet old memories arise. Thanks for this video. It was very informative.

    Do you think the acquisition of the Kirtland Temple (which isn’t a temple right now in the LDS definition, not yet anyway) is the fulfillment of prophecy? If so, what prophecy? Will its acquisition, along with the other acquisitions in this transaction, be promoted as a marketing/missionary strategy for the LDS Church? How is the Community of Christ Church looking at this transaction? a loss? a sign that the church is diminishing? fulfillment of prophecy? good thing/bad thing?

    • @watcherpalmerlds
      @watcherpalmerlds  9 месяцев назад +1

      My hope and speculation is the Kirtland Temple purchase is significant. As far as fulfilling prophecy; it is very similar to the temple in Jerusalem that was on the Temple Mount. It will be rebuilt and functional at the Savior’s coming. I believe the Kirtland temple could be the temple of the new Jerusalem, in that it was the first temple of the latter days. Keys were restored in this temple. It could complete the prophecy of the last shall be first and the first shall be last. Just some thoughts

    • @rkn2800
      @rkn2800 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@watcherpalmerlds Thanks for that. It makes sense that Independence, Missouri, which is not that far from Kirtland (few hours drive), is thought of as the literal New Jerusalem, location of the Garden of Eden, spot where Jesus’s feet will touch down again, all according to the teachings of Mormon propehets and what we all learned from primary till adulthood. We need to wait till the current leaders of the Church announce this acquisition at the next general conference and perhaps make prophetic statements about its significance. I wish they’d be specific about all signs of the times and give a running report of the fulfillment of each, which would give us an indication as to when the Lord comes again. I feel they have been very non-specific about the big event, almost stringing us along. Appreciate your comment.

    This is an interesting 22 minute video talking about the LDS Church buying the Kirtland Temple and how John Hajicek (Restoration Collector) made an offer for 100 Million to the Community Church of Christ, for the Kirtland Temple 15 days before the LDS Church purchased it. So the fact that the LDS Church paid 192 million for the Temple and all the other items probably wasn't so crazy.
    It was discussed that a lot of people in the Midwest were afraid if the "LDS" church purchased the Kirtland Temple, they would restore it and use it as a regular temple. So, John and some backers wanted to buy it so it wouldn't be converted to a regular temple.
