New hobby scrapper here...wanted to say I appreciate you Scrapitall! I love the way you demonstrate HOW to scrap everyday items. A lot of scrappers on you tube show their hauls to the yard and or collecting...which is fine...you educate. I agree with others--for some reason I find your voice and method soothing; easy to watch. Keep 'em coming!
Wow, thank you so much for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate that.
God bless you my precious brother for your educative presentations. I also love scraping.

After U remove the copper would the rest of the materials amount to much towards scrap also. I just seen your video for the first time and enjoyed the info. Thanks U.XOXO 😊
@@claysmith782 yes, the steel has scrap value as well. Most yards will classify it as prepared steel.

I wish I came across this sooner honestly. Easier, quieter, and a lot less messy. Thanks for this! You got yourself a new subscriber (:
Thank you so much!
I have found that some motors it doesn’t work on, so just keep that in mind.
Love the way you keep trying new ways to do disassemble things! They usually have less loss of material than the quick ways.
Thank you so much. I really do enjoy trying new ways.

Yep, my third video I've watched today and I like the way you do the step by step methods. Now these types I've always cut but after seeing this method, I'm gonna try it and see how it works for me. I scap when time permits and although I am retired, I still work a full-time job, so the extra cash from scrapping is worth it to me. Thank you again for sharing your time and knowledge, respect and may God bless you always.
Thank you so much for watching 3 videos today, I greatly appreciate it.
Scrapping is such a great way to earn some extra money for sure.
This method won’t work on all motors, but it’s worked on 3 different ones I’ve tried.
Thank you and God bless you too brother!
@scrapitall200 we had that bad storm here in Houston last week, so I went out to see what people were throwing away. Found many old tube tvs, flat screens, and appliances. Hi, Pam. Thank you for stopping by and watching. Have a wonderful day
That is neat!
Thank you for all your prayers and all you do. ❤
I thought so too. Thank you for watching buddy.
I don't like blades so this is a blessing to see! With any method, you have to build up speed and become more efficient. However, I didn't notice any editing, so it seems like it took you about 7.5 minutes to scrap 2 pounds of copper. That's about $24/hr. Not too shabby at all.
There was some editing, but I don’t remember how long it exactly took me. But you’re absolutely correct, with more practice it’ll get quicker and quicker.
Thank you for watching.
I always take time into consideration when scraping. It’s really easy to make a $1 an hour on a stubborn piece of scrap. You gotta know when to give up and move on to something else. I’ve done every method because every winding is different, but air chisel is best. No matter how big/small or even burnt, it’s shakes everything a part
My preferred method is cutting the stator in half with a machete then I pull the copper out.
I’ve seen air chisels used and they are great.
I have fun scrapping it all and as long as I’m enjoying myself, I’m not concerned about the amount of time something takes, but I know many do care about the time.
Thank you for watching!
Good video. Never seen that done before
Thank you buddy!
Oh, I see you found some lacquer, too. I'm glad I am not alone. Great video, and maybe I'll give it a try again.
I did it with a stator from a sealed unit, the oily winding made it fairly easy.
@@scrapitall200 Oh good thinking. I will have lots of those to do.
I’m hoping that video will be out next Saturday. You’ll see how it worked. The major downside using this method on them, it’s hard to hold onto anything from all the oil.
Very interesting video! Thank you for showing this.
Thank you, I appreciate that.
great method! I'm gonna try that on my uncensored channel!

Used to do this, but as you mentioned, some are difficult to remove, so slicing them tends to be easier and quicker. Always good to have alternate methods, though.
Absolutely! Definitely are faster methods but it is fun showing alternative methods. Thank you for watching my friend.
Great Video, Probably not something I'd try doing but I understand the hobby/therapy of dismantling our scrap sometimes it's just for fun not for profit.

You might be a genius. Ty! I just started experimenting with removing copper from motors.
Some people knit...I do things like this! Bless you!
It’s definitely fun to experiment.
Definitely a lot more fun than knitting lol.

I would like to get a winding like that. I did get a ceiling fan, and I cut it by hand. 15.28 ounces. Happy scraping ❤
They are nice!
Yeah fans are not the heaviest weight in copper, but I like scrapping them.

Awesome job
Thank you, I appreciate that!
I believe most 230V or higher voltage motor windings, were further insulated by hot varnish and baked. Rewound ones certainly were. This would prevent this great way to get them out. This is a good common sense way to get them out, the opposite way to how they were put in. Good video.
Absolutely! I’ve had some motors that were absolutely drenched in varnish and they are a bear lol.
It’s fun trying new methods!
Thank you for watching.
Never seen or heard of doing it that way. Now I need a motor to tear apart. Great video buddy

I hope you find one and it’ll work for you.
This is the method I have always used. Remove the sleeves.

I've found that the ones that are heavily lacored you can take a pair of side cutters and cut the tops of the coils in the center. Flip it over and use a screwdriver or a small pry bar and pull the coils out. It takes a little longer but it also prevents the copper and lacor dust.
Absolutely. I even use a machete to cut it in half, works the best imo.

You can use an air hammer with a wide chisel bit to cut the windings on one side and then pull the rest through the other side.
No copper dust/loss and no using up your cutting disks.

More time = less money.

I usually use that method ,but mine is methodically and up to the detail.
I remove the copper winding ,scrap the burnt out winding and reverse unwind the remaining winding to a bobbin for reuse in making transformers or rewinding other motors.
That’s cool! Thank you for watching and leaving your comment.
Great video content. Thank you for sharing. New sub!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that.
That works but is a little slow and fiddly, I have found that a sharp cheap wood chisel, hammer, and a solid surface to work on makes fast work of it. Just shear(chisel) off one end of the windings and pull the remainder out from the other side.
Well sir that's definitely different but I wonder how it would work with the ones that are really sealed with shalac this was a lot of fun thank you for sharing this six stars brother
Probably not very well, that’s when I bust out the machete 😂
Thank you brother, I appreciate it.
lol “ not very well “ is an understatement, errr speaking from experience
@@Man-in-da-shed 🤣
I’ve been there too buddy
Try it when the varnish is applied using vacuum impregnation during manufacturing... Regards.
A good way to do this if you don’t have the tools I just buzz the coil on one side then work the rest of the wire out. I have used this method for salvaging the wire for rewiring motors. Why scrap wire that would be expensive new?
If only they were all that easy…😊
That is true. Some won’t work with this method, that’s when the machete comes out lol.
Thank you for watching buddy.
the coil being difficult to remove had a narrower slot maybe from overheating maybe bending open the slot a little with big flat head screw driver might be worth a try i get stuck with odds and ends often simple fixes are not far away thanks for vids
Thank you for the suggestion, I always appreciate them.
Thank you for watching.
That is if the windings soft like that but most of the time it's solid hard from insulating varnish
That’s true, but it’s still fun to show different methods.
I must go try
Awesome! Please let me know how it goes.
Thank you for watching.
Scrapitall I appreciate your videos, but on this one I just get a reciprocating saw and cut one side then pry the other side out with a flat head. The pain though is some motors have paper and string holding together so the slow part of cutting all that off takes time. BUT as I said, love your videos brother.
I understand it’s not a method for everyone but I do enjoy showing different ways.
Thank you, I appreciate that and thank you for watching.
sprawdzę ale nie sądze że będzie tak łatwo
