- You know when your favourite band releases a cover of your favourite song by your second favourite band? That happened for me today.
The acoustic version is incredible but I love the instrumental from the original so I thought I'd make this.
At this moment sleep token has gotten me through my fentanyl heroin withdraw and I am sober!

Maybe it's the chord progression and the 6/8 time signature, but even though it clearly sounds like a modern metal song, it has the feeling of an old rock n' roll ballad. I can just imagine a less distorted version of this song playing in a ballroom in the 1950s while teenagers slow dance.
It's actually because it's written in 12/8 but it has a 6/8 feel with oscillating rhythm between the 2 that brings in a ballad feel. I've started to play the piano for it since I'm going to a ST concert soon and it's very interesting from a theory POV

He knows how to sing without exerting his throat. Everything else is how he moves his mouth. Singing is weird. You have to chill on your breathe.

That's true for every member of sleep Token. Vessel is an incredible vocalist, II is a maniac on the drums, III is an awesome bassist and IV is an insane guitarist
(I actually think II is one of the greatest drummers of our generation)
This song is the moment you meet one of the most beautiful souls you've ever seen who you once knew in another lifetime and are instantly hit with all kinds of deep love, familiarity, and a rush of emotions that just take your breath away.
i feel this away about a friend of mine ive had for a very long time. i know that i will always love her but at the same time it will never be more than what we are,. it took me a long time to accept that and sometimes i question it. this song hits me right where that problem lies. you know that person is the beautiful soul in question and yet its a form of melancholy heartbreak that you have her next to you, just not in the way you long for.

I love this version, i love vessels voice, and i love the acustic version as well...but nothing will ever top the true raw emotion that is delivered in the original version of this song. Loathe created a masterpiece of sorrow, pain, and hope. And im sure it will be a very long time before we hear something like that again.

I literally JUST got into Loathe like last week. This was the first song, and my favorite song so far. Sleep token is one of my favorite bands so i was definitely a bit shocked when i saw this pop up on my recommendations. Vessel never disappoints. Worship.

It’s so odd, even if I had never heard of Loathe, I Worship enough to know this isn’t an original ST song, but I’ll be damned if he doesn’t absolutely nail this song beautifully.

@@fadkey8401 oh I’ve been listening to Loathe almost as long as I’ve been listening to ST. I’m just saying if I had never heard of them, therefore not knowing that this was not an ST song, I’d still be able to tell it wasn’t, just because I know the instrumentals are not Vessel’s style. Especially the drums. Vessel 2 would’ve found some way to make this beautiful ballad a technical masterpiece.

The description though. This is not a crossover I ever even imagined and I couldn't be more thrilled. Quick work on this mix, too. Feels "better" against the original track but the new rendition is more beautifully, hauntingly sad, per Vessel usual.

As soon as I heard the original I wanted to what Vessel’s vocals would sound like heavy, so thanks for the evidence that it’s great! Kinda wish the ST version had some of their ambience and riffage now though!
