It's really fun watching someone who has not read until the end and is therefore mis-interpreting so much, or doesn't have the full backstory (which is exactly what the book intends - all these gaps and the history between the characters you've met will be filled in eventually so that they become more than just punchlines). I love the way they've kept elements of Xie Lian's humour, though. That scene in heaven when he was reversing into everyone was hilarious! He abandoned his ego a long time ago, but he must still need to laugh at certain things so they don't hurt.
