Flora Cash Teaches You How To Play 'You're Somebody Else' - Official Guitar Lesson

- Hi everyone! With all this extra time we have on our hands due to quarantines and the social distancing we're practicing related to the current situation, a lot of us are pulling out our instruments and learning new songs or old favorites.
We've seen tons of awesome covers of our song 'You're Somebody Else' but I've never seen anyone play it exactly like it sounds on the record. So I thought it would be fun to #stayhome and teach you guys exactly how to do that. I even used the very same guitar (with the same strings!) we used when we recorded the song, so it should sound very familiar.
Play 'You're Somebody Else' on guitar #withme and show us your best cover using the original riff! We really want to see it! As I mention in the video, learning the original riff doesn't mean you shouldn't add your own spice and dynamic to it; that's what makes covers so fun and exciting, but we feel it's also great to have the knowledge to use the original riff as a foundation for your own interpretation.

Only time? You should check out James Bay, John Mayer and James Valentine from Maroon 5 too. All of them have done lessons for their own songs on RUclips.

I bought myself an acoustic guitar in december and now im starting to learn how to play. The first time in heard the song "You're Somebody Else" was actually while watching a netflix series called "Locke&Key". I heard the song and all i could think about was "wow, what is this for a song and why i dont know it" :D So this will be my first song i try to learn on acoustic. When i mastered it i think i will do a video in the garden by campfire, but i wont promise :D
Locke and key! Thank you, that's why it sounded so familiar. I knew what it was called but I had forgotten where I heard it for the first time and it was Locke and key (great show by the way). I heard it on tiktok and I was like "oh yeah, that song!" and decided I had to hear the whole thing again so here I am on youtube.
