As a middle school speech teacher, I showed the kids a Red Green piece when they were learning how to do a demonstration speech. He created crazy stuff, but he had all the elements - clear instructions, all the parts and tools within reach, eye contact, fun facts to fill "dead air," an intro and concluding statement ("If the women don't find you handsome.."). They loved it! After that, whenever they got their work done early, we'd watch a "Red Green" video as a reward.

However, I'm posting today because I really liked the way Red handled the gay pride sign. He didn't destroy it. He held onto it until he found a place for it inside the Possum Lodge.

I used that line a few times to downplay my looks, and try to highlight my handiness...
But then my mother in law says... well, you're both. hmmmm (and yes, I've fixed everything they've broken).
Still scratching my head on how they ripped off a cabinet door though... and they were too embarrassed to approach me about the front bumper they hooked on a curb and ripped off... and discovered someone else had used a hurricane strap to reattach it. (I correctly guessed which of their son's had done that - given three of them were in the construction business.)
Used to watch the show waaaay back. Still funny! Perhaps moreso as an old man.
