I am Sumatran by blood, born and raised in Banten (Serang), went for study in Depok, and work in Jakarta. As a Bantenese and Sumatran who have also been living almost 2 decades in Jakarta, technically I am blessed to understand and speak some of the most-spoken language in Indonesia (Javanese, Sundanese, and various dialects in Malay).

Wah sudah sampai Banten, saya dari banten, tapi perbatasan Banten dengan Jakarta. Kalian bisa visit ke Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon di Pandeglang Banten. Taman ini ditetapkan sebagai Natural World Heritage Site oleh UNESCO karna alam nya yang masih terjaga dan habitat bagi berbagai vegetasi Flora dan Fauna termasuk hewan langka Badak bercula satu ( Rhinoceros Sondaicus) yang hanya ada di wilayah ini. Memang untuk Turis asing tiket nya cukup mahal tetapi tempat nya sangat bagus dengan pantai nya yang indah, wisata alam liar (wildlife viewing), snorkling, diving, air terjun, pemandian air panas, ziarah gua, hiking. Dan pulau Peucang yang paling banyak dikunjungi wisatawan karena hamparan pasir putih nya yang luas dan air nya yang jernih. Walaupun demikian, kunjungan wisata ke Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon dibatasi agar tidak mengganggu habitat badak Jawa. OH IYA,, HATI-HATI di Banten sedang banyak begal (perampasan sepeda motor dengan senjata tajam) dan geng motor yang mengganggu pengguna jalan. Jangan lupa untuk selalu menggunakan kunci motor ganda ketika sedang meninggalkan motor di manapun untuk menghindari pencurian sepeda motor yang sering terjadi di Indonesia

There are so many foreign RUclipsrs visiting places in Indonesia but you boys of the Lost Boys are the one I mostly like because you mingle with the people, not afraid to explore deeper into the communities and understand their cultures, and even as an Indonesian I can learn to understand other Indonesians from your encounter with them. Also not afraid getting diarrhoea eating/drinking from their food. You actually help them to think twice to give you, as bule and foreign tourists, clean and hygienic food/drink so that you don't get sick. So it is a good learning process for them to be clean and hygienic when giving food to foreign guests. I like Banten province. It's still a gem for a Jakartan like me. So many new things there to explore. You can visit and explore these places: A. popular places such as: Anyer Beach to Carita Beach. From those beaches you can see the Krakatoa mountain, which is its Anak Krakatoa (The Son of Krakatoa) mountain sticking out in the Sunda Strait. There are many hotels and cottages along the beach where you can stay. The story of very recent tsunami in Anyer/Carita is interesting, because it was caused by the collapse of a giant cliff below sea level as part of the Anak Krakatoa mountain. B. not so well-known but amazing places: 1. Explore sceneries in Tanjung Lesung area, continue and stay in Ciputih Beach (I stayed here several times and I recommend it with its individual bungalows, white sandy beach and you can swim on this beach, rent also fishing boat to bring you to the sea from this Ciputih Beach resort to fish), then continue to the Ujung Kulon National Park where if you are lucky you can see the one-horn rhinoceros. If you have more time explore the Panaitan Island across the sea from the Ciputih Beach or from Sumur and while going there do sea fishing. 2. Ride along the beach South of Banten to sea the Indian Ocean, continue all the way to the east until you arrive in Pelabuhan Ratu in West Jawa, right at the borderline with Banten. Ride along the south beach starting from Ciputih or Sumur to many south beaches, including Bayah beach, Karang Taraje beach, through to Karanghawu, stop a while in Bukit Habibie to see Pelabuhan Ratu bay from the high hill, then riding down along the beach side to end in Pelabuhan Ratu. So many places to choose to stay there. Pelabuhan Ratu is part of West Java. It was very popular among expats and foreign tourists before the Asian economic crisis hit in 1998. After that many foreign tourists are gone and not return anymore (probably because new tourist destination found after 2000 such as Lombok, Sulawesi Utara, Labuan Bajo). But it still has its beauty and so many things to explore there.
Thanks so much for the nice comment and it's great you can learn and understand other Indonesians through our videos. A lot of great info about Banten here, we didn't know about the effect of the crisis in 1998. Many locals also told us that were many more foreign tourists before the tsunami in 2018. We did see some foreign tourists during our visit to Pulau Peucang but that's it. As with most of our trips, we rarely see foreign tourists during our travels. We just spoke to a good friend who traveled from Jakarta to Malang (stopping in many places along the way), and she said she hardly saw any foreign travelers. Everyone is in BALI! It's a sad reality that so many people only go to Bali and miss out on exploring the other amazing parts of Indonesia. We hope that changes in the future and we hoe our videos have an impact. fyi, these coastal area of Banten used to be flattened by the 1883 giant tsunami from Krakatoa Eruption (more like Implosion since the crater collapsed inward and sunk into the sea. Anak Krakatau did the similar thing it's 'mother' did in 2018 and caused a tsunami and there was casualties as well. there used to be a steamboat stranded into the jungle of ujung kulon after getting carried away by the tsunami wave from the 1883 eruption but i think it's gone now. there was a drawing of that steam boat drawn by Dutch officer and the drawing also present in Krakatoa, The Day the World explode, a book written by Simon Winchester (sorry for the TMI, Krakatoa is one of my fave volcanoes in Indonesia)

Every place in the world has its plus and minuses. We feel like all of positives we've experienced though far outweigh any negatives, which are very few. It's safe to say we love Indonesia 🇮🇩

Negeri di atas awan ( it's kind of the tallest mountain in banten you can get such a beautiful view on this spot ) 3. Also don't forget that in banten there have a few tribe who really famous try searching Suku baduy banten and trust me you will be interested with them. the culture, the urban legend and many more. i've been visited them once in my life. let's road, cheers

So many places to choose to stay there. Pelabuhan Ratu is part of West Java. It was very popular among expats and foreign tourists before the Asian economic crisis hit in 1998. After that many foreign tourists are gone and not return anymore (probably because new tourist destination found after 2000 such as Lombok, Sulawesi Utara, Labuan Bajo). But it still has its beauty and so many things to explore there.
Thanks so much for the nice comment and it's great you can learn and understand other Indonesians through our videos. A lot of great info about Banten here, we didn't know about the effect of the crisis in 1998. Many locals also told us that were many more foreign tourists before the tsunami in 2018. We did see some foreign tourists during our visit to Pulau Peucang but that's it. As with most of our trips, we rarely see foreign tourists during our travels. We just spoke to a good friend who traveled from Jakarta to Malang (stopping in many places along the way), and she said she hardly saw any foreign travelers. Everyone is in BALI! It's a sad reality that so many people only go to Bali and miss out on exploring the other amazing parts of Indonesia. We hope that changes in the future and we hoe our videos have an impact. fyi, these coastal area of Banten used to be flattened by the 1883 giant tsunami from Krakatoa Eruption (more like Implosion since the crater collapsed inward and sunk into the sea. Anak Krakatau did the similar thing it's 'mother' did in 2018 and caused a tsunami and there was casualties as well. there used to be a steamboat stranded into the jungle of ujung kulon after getting carried away by the tsunami wave from the 1883 eruption but i think it's gone now. there was a drawing of that steam boat drawn by Dutch officer and the drawing also present in Krakatoa, The Day the World explode, a book written by Simon Winchester (sorry for the TMI, Krakatoa is one of my fave volcanoes in Indonesia)

Just few tips for you regarding your motorcycle:
1. Always double lock or put on secondary lock on your motorcycle
2. Aware with your surrounding area. Not everyone is nice or have good intentions
3. Watchout for Begal. Do some research before start every trip.

1. you should go to ujung kulon for seeking Badak ( rhino ) cula 1 ( one horn ) people in banten says this kind of animal is so hard to find and when you find that animal it looks like a treasure.
2. Negeri di atas awan ( it's kind of the tallest mountain in banten you can get such a beautiful view on this spot )
3. Also don't forget that in banten there have a few tribe who really famous try searching Suku baduy banten and trust me you will be interested with them.
the culture, the urban legend and many more. i've been visited them once in my life.
