  • I've posted this video before on RUclips, but not with the introduction (and outro) by Don Lane, so here it is in its entirety. Vito Portolesi (RIP) is playing his Maton fretless bass, with it's distinctive "growl", and not long after this he changed to the fretted fender bass. "Continental" Robert Susz on vocals and harmonica, Richard Ruhle on drums, Samilla Sithole on congas, and Dave Brewer on guitar.

Dave Brewer, with all due respect to so many other great players, you're one of the few true individuals on guitar. And supported here with Rob Susz (another beautiful, genuine original, who knew how to pull a band of understated virtuosi toghether) I hope these performances find there way to the National Film and Sound Archives, where they must take their rightful place. Thank you.

I went to about 50 or 60 shows. Best aussie r+b band ever.
