    My random TAM hack? Using a gardening mat for your knees if, like me, you have super sensitive knees. And I just stocked up on a few from the dollar section at Target (they’re $5 each) and I swear they are so much better than the mats made specifically for workouts! They last a surprisingly long time, are SO inexpensive and give your knees stability with just the right amount of cushion.

    Rachel, I saw your interview and you are by far the most relatable, most helpful interview I’ve heard yet. It’s usually a “oh I’ve been doing it for a million years, I can do it in my sleep” vibe but yours was real and relatable to us who are still under 2 years and still trying to figure if it’s for me. Also, the advocating for it was so on point 👌🏼 my husband often questions it, and thinks I should try other things. I’m still trying to figure out if TA is for me 🤪 you were helpful!

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  2 года назад

      Thank you so much, Fania! Something I probably should have mentioned is how I have interpreted his questioning/skeptism my husband has as him saying indirectly "your workout isn't working for you, you don't look good." I think we all go through major fluctuations in general and it is easy to interpret it as what we are doing isnt working - when in truth - its the monthly water weight. But goodness it FEELS SO REAL - like I have lost all of my progress. And I STILL feel like I am figuring out if its worth it for me - its almost like I am an addict to HIIT training and I am in recovery taking one day at a time.

    My husband built me a floor like that using plywood and cut pool noodles...it's amazing and no shin splints. Even cheaper than the online floor! 🥳 I love the idea of sticking cardio in between but agree I would be annoyed trying to find my spot or get distracted. I got a mirror from Menards for about $50 that's a perfect size, and used it for the first time today...total game changer!! Clearly I forget to pull in my abs allll the time. 🙄🤣 As always, thanks for posting TA content! ❤️

    • @mebeno6
      @mebeno6 2 года назад +3

      He found a tutorial on RUclips about some martial arts facility in maybe New Zealand that used higher grade noodles of some sort in between their flooring, then laid mats on top so they wouldn't have the impact. My workout area could handle a 6x6 floor, and he made a little prototype where I could test it for bounce and spacing then used a special glue to glue them all on one side. It actually has a hinge and wheels so I can lift and move it around if need be (but I claim that area so too bad, kiddos 🤣). If you want specific details I'm sure I could write up something. He's an ER nurse by trade but can build me all kinds of stuff 🤣 Between that and the mirror (it's even beveled so do look into getting one!) my workouts have been so much better! After Easter I'll be back on Instagram (doin a little fasting of social media) and I'll take a pic of it and tag you so you can see it!!

    Rachel, regarding the 50% off online streaming if you do the continuity program. I’m not sure that’s worth it, because…. I emailed support and they said the cost of continuity is $29.99 per month for four years, THEN you get 50% off.
    That’s a lot of time! And ~$1440 after 4 years, during which time you’re doing the continuity program but no access to online streaming I believe. 🤔
    I think it may be a better deal to just pay for the year online all at once and get that 25% discount, or is it 30?

    Another TAM hack for your knees... Arnica gel!! Even with a good mat, when I first did Tracy's method, doing the workouts EVERY SINGLE DAY on hands and knees, my knees got bruised. Arnica gel, if applied before the bruising begins to show, can help keep it from happening at all. If bruised are already there, it can help them skip the purple stage and go straight to the yellow stage. It also helps and potential bruised area feel better much more quickly. I may just bruise easily, but if anyone else out there has this issue, Arnica is a miracle worker. You can get it at any CVS/Walgreens, etc.

    Thanks for this great post. I think it is an important topic for us TAMers. The longer I go into this journey, and I think I am month 4 now.... I look for hacks that primarily save time. Now please dont get me wrong, I am dedicated and I love TA...a total evangelist about it, but honestly...between a more than full time tech job, additional study, friends, my husband and motherhood trying to find 90miñs everyday is proving challenging. Sure I can get up at 4am I suppose but I just don't want to! Sleep is too important. So I am only doing the full 90 mins x 3. The rest of the week I do 15mins rebounding + one of those 15 mins lower body workouts in the elective content. My progress isnt going to he as fast but it still been pretty good to date. And Im ok with that.
    Also, I asked my trainer friend about this idea of splitting workouts through the day and she said it was perfectly fine as long as you complete the target area in one hit to get the exhaustion.
    For my kneews and wrists, I use soft blankets that I fold and lay flat over my mat....which I use on top of carpet. It helps with hips and knees.
    Oh btw ...last week I started Advanced. Not every workout,and some moves I have to skip ir modify. ...i dont do the splits I just do a low stretchy lunge....but the difference in my body....its a game changer. I would recommend if you're at a good Intermediate with ankle weights to maybe throw in Adnvaced once a week and see what happens.
    Sorry for long post...I had so much in my head to get out on these hacks. Love love the channel. Have a great day!

      Thank you thank you thank you! I am going to take your advice and sprinkle in some advance. It can be so intimidating but good to bring in the challenge. I’m with you that sleep should be prioritized. When I don’t get enough sleep it throws EVERYTHING out of wack. And I’m with you, an evangelist too but there are so many other things to juggle it may not always be the top priority. I’m actually sharing how I really took a pause on TA and it was one of the best things for my TA journey which has sense resumed!

    Rachel, the interview was great but we discussed it already in DM :) Nowadays, I also do two workout sessions because I got hungry after doing both in the morning and I moved less later in the day, which is not good sitting the whole day in front of the computer. I do the mat workout first thing in the morning, go for a walk during lunch time and i also walk in the flat with a headset, when i have a call without screen time. Before dinner, I do arm toner or one of the other quick elective contents and after that I do either dance cardio or trampoline (the one, we got with the TA meta program).
    magazine: we should also talk about the dietary advice in the wonderland issue. It just triggered me. Minimal protein, keto like “no carbs” and veggie soups. it’s like baby food. I eat clean and I’m still super restrictive but now I feel discouraged that probably i cannot reach my body goal or the best version of myself without a baby food diet... IF (16:8 or 18:6) daily and gluten-free, dairy free, mostly plant-base diet due to my food intolerances and I'm still far away...

    • @noodlep2547

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  2 года назад

      No carbs is an immediate trigger for me 😠 "Can a girl get some pretzels up in here?" I am convinced that i am better off having carbs - not only because it reduces the changes that i inhale food - but it eliminates the stigma. Sounds like you are doing all of the right things - do you find you are progressing, but not as fast you want? Sometimes progress photos help me from throwing in the towel, because the things I don't notice on a daily basis, i will notice over the contrast that a month or two can bring. Always great to hear from you. I hope you're food intolerance leaves room for food you enjoy. That can be beyond frustrating!

    The way all the products and services work is as a collaboration of resources. Originally when online streaming came to be it was advise that you do sTArt, your Centric and Dance Cardio. But what happened is users didn’t want the second cost or the work. The first two years of all the Centric differ and the last two years are the same across all Centric’s. It’s only in my second attempt to really embody the Method that I have decided that the long road is the best road for me. I also saw in Loretta’s interview that she took long road and slowly very slowly add more and more optimization of the deTAils. Another piece I realized is that if I didn’t do at least the first two years of Centric I would be doing the Method on top of imbalance. Just recently, I sent my pics in and for last decade or so I misplaced myself in the wrong Centric. In less than 6 weeks my body really started to shift. My next step is couple the online studio with Continuity. I am one of those followers who does best with all parts available to me. It’s like when I go on a vacation and there are buffets. I actually settle into healthy pattern around food. I don’t need to have everything I just need appropriate options and I will intuitively move around. My hack would be be that.

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  2 года назад

      Talk about a major hack. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I have often wondered what the expense of the "one size fits all" approach would be - and it makes me want to schedule another prescription office consultation to see what they would say, as far as ,where my imbalances are and if going back to Abc-entric would be best for me.
