      I really miss the unexpected things that used to happen on this channel. I appreciate the chess, it's still a great channel, but the nice photos for us to enjoy with speculation over what substance was in the man's mug might be... that was peak Agad.

    Boris has outlasted the vast majority of players from his generation. Never champion, but definitely one of the all-time greats simply for his longevity

    I was rooting for David Howell to go to the Candidates with Alireza. He is just awesome and humble man. Of course, I’m glad Fabi got the spot, Candidates can’t be held without him. 👏

      David Howell was 9th I believe, only the top 8 qualify for Grand Prix so he didn't make it

      Yeah but the end game was just hopeless for David Howell. He had a queen against 2 rooks of Vincent. Just Hopeless. Vincent's King was protected from any checks, the pawns were protected. David could not move any pawn or if he dared,the position would be lost for him. If anything,draw was his best result from that end game. It was heartbreaking seeing him repeat the same position after 10 moves yet Vincent just waited,daring him to look for something that would lose the game. Anyway on the positive note,Vincent is 18 I believe,great player,maybe he can become another Alireza.

    Worthy successor to the "harem of 5 queens" game by Alekhine . Though there were 5 queens on the board almost till the end that time , this was certainly close . Not everyday we hear "exchanging a pair of queens" 😁 .

      As I know, there are one extra queen for both white and black. Also, you can flip rook to be queen

      @@linggamusroji227 I know there is an extra queen but they would have to ask the arbiters for more :) also if you flip a rook in a tournament game it would count as a rook

      I believe a set in a tournament like this would have a second queen for each side. And the third white queen only appeared after one of the previous one was captured so white probably just reused the captured queen.

    In this game, a pair of Queens were traded, two were forked simultaneously, and two queens piled up on the King when the King was naked in the middle of the board! Naughty game! 😉

      He is not as strong to make live analysis I believe (at least compared to professional chess players like David Howell), you will have Caruana for such thing. Antonio is better for making short videos with the most interesting ideas from an already played game.

    I feel cheated. Thought that there were going to be 5 queens on the board at the same time; it's just different when queens were already traded before that. Many people had 5 wives, rare is when someone has 5 at the same time!!

    4:38 after bd7 what happens after ba3? For example Kd8 takes f8 then Kc7, Qd6+, Kd8? Wasn't winning a bishop after King back to d8 we block the pawn with rook?

    5 queens is something I'd expect in a game between a 600 player and a 500 player where the former manages to promote three pawns, then goes on to stalemate his opponent. This, though, is a masterpiece.

    I got 8 white queens on an actual chess game. I have the 'Chess for Android' on my note 9, and played the quickest and simplest level (2) and managed to have 8 queens for white and checkmate the kings with all legal moves. it was fun.

    Someone pls tell me whether bishop H3 is a good move at 5:27....since black bishop is pinned it can't be moved and the next move is checkmate with white queen if black doesn't do anything good....is it that he missed that or any flaw in my idea.... someone pls clarify

    Well, if there are 5 queens in a chess game, one player will end up with one more queen than the other player. Always happens when there are an odd number of queens in a game.
