6:17 "If this was a normal game, maybe a move like...but this is a game where we already have 4 queens on the board, so naturally Gelfand wants to have another one" 💀
Boris has outlasted the vast majority of players from his generation. Never champion, but definitely one of the all-time greats simply for his longevity
I was rooting for David Howell to go to the Candidates with Alireza. He is just awesome and humble man. Of course, I’m glad Fabi got the spot, Candidates can’t be held without him. 👏
Yeah but the end game was just hopeless for David Howell. He had a queen against 2 rooks of Vincent. Just Hopeless. Vincent's King was protected from any checks, the pawns were protected. David could not move any pawn or if he dared, the position would be lost for him. If anything, draw was his best result from that end game. It was heartbreaking seeing him repeat the same position after 10 moves yet Vincent just waited, daring him to look for something that would lose the game. Anyway on the positive note,Vincent is 18 I believe, great player, maybe he can become another Alireza.
Worthy successor to the "harem of 5 queens" game by Alekhine . Though there were 5 queens on the board almost till the end that time , this was certainly close . Not everyday we hear "exchanging a pair of queens" 😁 .
In the beginning of the video agad took many cautions not to spoil the standings of the tournament and in the end he just throw it as unexpectedly as he could
@@linggamusroji227 I know there is an extra queen but they would have to ask the arbiters for more :) also if you flip a rook in a tournament game it would count as a rook
I believe a set in a tournament like this would have a second queen for each side. And the third white queen only appeared after one of the previous one was captured so white probably just reused the captured queen.
Vincent Keymer, who got fifth place, is only 16 years old and currently the youngest player in the TOP 100. Definitely candidates material in the coming years!
In this game, a pair of Queens were traded, two were forked simultaneously, and two queens piled up on the King when the King was naked in the middle of the board! Naughty game! 😉
Hi Agad, just wondering if perhaps you would be interested in covering the world chess championship live this time as it happens or if it's going to be the usual "post-hoc" style.
He is not as strong to make live analysis I believe (at least compared to professional chess players like David Howell), you will have Caruana for such thing. Antonio is better for making short videos with the most interesting ideas from an already played game.
I feel cheated. Thought that there were going to be 5 queens on the board at the same time; it's just different when queens were already traded before that. Many people had 5 wives, rare is when someone has 5 at the same time!!
This is the first time I've ever found the "take a few seconds to find the winning move!" I feel so happy! . . . . . I saw that you could doubly-attack the King with the Queen and the other Bishop, leaving the King only one space to retreat. Dark square Bishop to G5
4:38 after bd7 what happens after ba3? For example Kd8 takes f8 then Kc7, Qd6+, Kd8? Wasn't winning a bishop after King back to d8 we block the pawn with rook?
5 queens is something I'd expect in a game between a 600 player and a 500 player where the former manages to promote three pawns, then goes on to stalemate his opponent. This, though, is a masterpiece.
I got 8 white queens on an actual chess game. I have the 'Chess for Android' on my note 9, and played the quickest and simplest level (2) and managed to have 8 queens for white and checkmate the kings with all legal moves. it was fun.
Someone pls tell me whether bishop H3 is a good move at 5:27....since black bishop is pinned it can't be moved and the next move is checkmate with white queen if black doesn't do anything good....is it that he missed that or any flaw in my idea.... someone pls clarify
Well, if there are 5 queens in a chess game, one player will end up with one more queen than the other player. Always happens when there are an odd number of queens in a game.
Lol when i saw the thumbnail i was like “whos move is it because the two queens see eachother” and also on the thumb nail there is four queens but the title says 5 queens

Ah yes I remember this he also called him the wild gelfand in a video I believe it was in his magicians series.
He's the guy that enjoys a cup of coffee when he plays isn't he? X3

As I know, there are one extra queen for both white and black. Also, you can flip rook to be queen
