      I need use some kind of “brain dump” or “master list” to get everything out of my head. Not sure if those are two different things...

      @JoeCool0510 3 года назад

      @@ludmilla1332 Yes, I like the brain dump as well -- kind of like emptying out a drawer or a closet and then sorting through what you find, throwing out what you don't need, and re-organizing the rest for ease of access...

    The original Bullet Journal by Ryder was indeed minimalistic and simple. Sometimes it pays to go back to the roots/beginning. 💕

    This is the only REAL minimalist bullet journal. No rulers, just a pen/pencil and a notebook. That's more encouraging than all those artsy and colorful spreads!! TYSM.

    I have probably watched 20 + of these tutorials on bullet journaling and your down to earth nature is amazing. Please re-consider keeping your old journals. From a conventional "journalist" for many years, its great to look back to see where I was. :) Thank you for your video.

    The original bullet journal by Ryder Carrol is very minimalist, even more minimalist than yours. The artsy stuff is personal addition to the original bullet journal concept. Fine if that's what you fancy, but absolutely not required.

    Almost against my will, I have been drawn into bullet journalling lately, but after watching a large number of YT videos, I am confused and turned off by most of them. Until I saw this one with the word "ultra-minimalist" in the title. This is what I have been looking for and groping towards with one black pen and one simple notebook. Thank you so much for lighting the way. :)

    While I think that the super elaborate bullet journal layouts are lovely, they defeat the purpose of Ryder's intent.
    I like your approach. I think that it will work well for me. I like setting intentions for the month, as well as reflecting on the day. Your approach has the right blend of mindfulness and minimalism for me!

    Thanks for another great video!
    In my bullet journal I ushally have sections for: what I'm going to do for self care, who I'm going to communicate with/reach out to (if there is someone in my circle that I know is struggling or that I haven't heard from in a while) and either something that inspired me that day or a creative idea I had. I find these help me stay connected and creative and not just think about the things I have to do for work or adult life etc.

    • @ConniBiesalski

      I love that, really good stuff, thanks for sharing! I used to include similar sections and a habit tracker as well but then always found myself forgetting about those pages and not keeping up wit them, so I dropped em haha

    Ive been keeping a notebook like yours for 5 years now and it helps me stay on track when it comes to work related stuff. It took me about two years to realize that i have been bullet journalling all along.
    Its not about the fancy artsy stuff (although i do love to watch artsy bullet journal flip throughs). And while i do draw, i just cant maintain doing creative spreads each month 😅 so i just use a pen, one highlighter, and several stickers when im in the mood haha

  • @HeatherDougherty
    @HeatherDougherty 3 года назад +2

    I do something pretty similar to this. I like the idea of the pretty bullet journals but I don't have the patience so if I'm feeling particularly creative in the morning I will just give myself a pretty header for the day. I will add a little bit of highlighter then write the date.

    Thank you for this! Very serendipitous, as I was sitting with my 2 notebooks writing out multiple lists I needed some chill music to keep me focused so I go on youtube to find you popped up first with this. You are very in tune with the universe in that way. I also prefer hand written notebooks, with the apps I feel that as soon as I jot something down it becomes something that is no longer on my mind because I documented it, well then I don't refer back to it. The hand written notebook can stay on my desk open to the page so I have a visual reminder every time I am near my desk, that keeps me focused & not forget the task at hand. Also the chill background vibes I've been listening to lately is youtube channel of Chilled Cow. You might like it.

    I just started bujo this year. i’ve been using planners the previous years and expensive ones too from Starbucks etc but i can’t customize it and end up not getting a lot done or limited.
    I can do the fancy stuff since I paint etc. (and that’s why i try to do it) but the bullet journals on youtube are sometimes overwhelming and it triggers my perfectionism.
    I started to remember it’s for me to chronicle my mental health journey and have release as well as to manifest.
    I forgot that most youtubers are almost always selling you a product and i got sucked in. I can only afford a 5 euro bullet journal from hema which is pretty and actually of good quality paper but is not as thick and cannot withstand any of those fancy markers.
    Anyway thanks for this! I’ll get on with mine. Will still do a bit of the artsy as it’s healing for me to do creative but it’s a reminder for me not to go overboard with the need to be perfect which then makes me procrastinate and just get on to doing and creating and journaling.
    All the best to you!

    KISS method: "Keep it simple stupid" was taught to me at one corporation. Works! Have to laugh at all the artwork, designs, colorful pens to carry around etc that some create. By the time you create your colorful art and design, you could have accomplished a task! And isn't this the reason for keeping a bullet journal or planner, getting things done, accomplishments? Carrying around a pouch full of colorful pens defeats the entire idea for me. Thank you for this "simple" approach. Of course simplification, a notebook, defeats the millions of dollars the "planner" industry has created and for which so many migrate to.
