I don't like how the shop didn't help until they recognized you. They would have just left anyone else like that in trouble. It's frustrating because it's happened to me and the shop I was at said the same thing. "We don't work on bikes like that"

This could actually be an insurance issue. Also for example, here in sweden some mc shops and bicycle shops wont even allow you in to the shop with an electric scooter bike bc of insurance if a fire would happen and so on. Lame AF, but guess thats the deal

Not here I had my bike break down and managed to get it to the bike shop and they jumped on the chance to help me..guess I was lucky.

@@Yass_Zzit is the speed limiter, the bike can go faster but they wire in the controller connects a device that limits the speed

Bike shops are expected to be able to work on bikes, maybe some ebikes. But, I can understand not knowing how to work on a street tire. Plus street tires can be harder to work on.
@MOOPLEX101 that's money walking out the door. Why not increase your potential customer market? Being one of the few bike shops that can work on these kinds of bikes with street tires can only help you.

If you want more stopping power, I suggest installing some TRP DH brakes, with the bigger rotors and calipers for the 12s you wanna put, it should help with slowing down from high speed
