overprotecting from the sun can have potential side effects in the future, including:
    1. Vitamin D deficiency: Excessive sun protection can lead to inadequate vitamin D production, which is essential for bone health and immune function.
    2. Increased risk of diseases: Moderate sun exposure has been linked to reduced risks of diseases like multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. Excessive sun protection might negate these benefits.
    3. Weakened immune system: Some research suggests that excessive sun protection can weaken the immune system by reducing exposure to beneficial UV radiation.
    4. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD): Limited sun exposure can contribute to SAD, a type of depression that occurs during winter months.
    5. Circadian rhythm disruption: Insufficient natural light exposure can disrupt the body's internal clock, leading to sleep disorders and other issues.
    6. Skin conditions: Overuse of sunscreen and protective clothing can lead to skin conditions like acne, eczema, and dermatitis.
    7. Hormone regulation: Some research suggests that excessive sun protection might affect hormone regulation, potentially leading to issues like thyroid dysfunction.
It's essential to strike a balance between sun protection and moderate sun exposure.

Seems like sun protection in China is more about beauty aspects like preserving fair skin than the effects of prolong exposure to UV. It's definitely more important to protect the eyes 1st than the skin imo. Keeping an eye on the UV index is a wise move too.

Very interesting video, Day. I didn't realize people went to such lengths to avoid the sun lol. For me, if I'm going to be outside for any length of time (other than walking from my apartment to my car lol), I will wear a hat and sometimes sunscreen. If I'm going to the beach then I'll definitely wear sunscreen. But the rest is a little excessive in my opinion. Sunlight is good for you to a certain extent. Studies have shown that lack of sunlight can cause all kinds of problems including serious depression. That's why wintertime is so difficult for many people. And I don't know how people can breath on a hot day when their head is completely covered and wearing a mask. But to each his own. Thanks for sharing another great video. You always make my day.

What is that big yellow bright thing in the sky above you? I can't recall haven seen anything like it for a long time here in my Netherlands. Yes, it has been a rainy summer down here.
Tan is a social and cultural thing. Here in my fair skinned Netherlands for centuries only the very wealthy could afford to stay out of the sun. Being suntanned in the days was associated with being a poor peasant and should be avoided at all costs. Remember the fairy tale of Snow White? That harks back to those days. Ironically this fair skinned fashion led to the sunless elites having all kinds of vitamin D deficiencies and horrible afflictions.
About a century ago this all changed over here, and now having a tan was now associated with health and wealth.
As for me I tan very rapidly and people often ask me where I went on holidays when they notice that.

    • @HowToDoInChina

@@HowToDoInChinait's because your skin is not used to sun exposure. The skin gets tanned because of melanin production so that it protects your skin from burning. So it means that if you gradually increase your sun exposure you will be less sensitive and less burns. But darker skin tone is not ideal in Chinese culture right?
