    Perfect timing. In process of replacing my Worcester Greenstar 30cdi that has not needed a thing repaired in 16 years and still running. However as I was replacing all the radiators and new pipework to 15mm from old 6mm microbore I decided it maybe best now to change the boiler. But now torn between the Bosch 4000 24kw or new Ecotec Plus 826. The cost of the wireless thermostat and controls on the Vaillant to get best out of it are a bit much though.

    Whatever the make as long as it’s been installed by a qualified/competent engineer and serviced annually they are all pretty good

    Hello, I greatly appreciate your videos and find them very informative. I have a question regarding the Baxi Solo's air intake. It is currently displaying 18.1% Co26 instead of the expected 20.9%. I turned off the boiler due to issues with the seals, but someone turned it back on. What are your thoughts on this situation?

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  17 дней назад +1

      The flue integrity test is between 20.6 and 20.9 for o2. Where did you take your readings from?. If someone else has turned it back on the problem becomes their problem not yours so if anything did happen they are to blame not you. Hope that helps

    • @Sas-r5f
      @Sas-r5f 17 дней назад

      @@tomkatgastraining well behind the PCB where the grommet is, u insert my Kane probe in, and was 18.1% integrity with actual Co27 Baxi said it should he between 20.6%-20.9% which wasn't.

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  17 дней назад

      @@Sas-r5f I thought that’s where you would do it. In my opinion that’s not testing flue integrity because you could also pick up readings from the heat exchanger it’s the same when ideal take the drain plug out at the bottom and call that flue integrity.

    The worst boiler manufacturer / water heater maker in my experience has got to be Ariston. They have left my customer 3 weeks with no hot water. I fitted a new Ariston evo water heater 10 months ago. The customer had an A6 fault. It took over a week for the engineer to call. He came and said I have no idea what the problem is. I'll order some parts? As of today still waiting for the parts/ engineer. The customer is in his 80's, just had a stroke and hasn't had hot water for 3 + weeks. I will never install another Ariston product. Piss poor service.

      Me personally would of fitted intergas rapid as this can be set up as an instantaneous water heater by simple changes to parameters. Really poor from ariston though best of luck with it.

      ariston parts are very expensive too. ill give you an example same aav in some older aristons is the one used in bosch boilers different end caps. probably made in same factory in china. one is x3 the price of the other. same thing different price. theres whole newbuild estates round my way using aristons that were fitted poorly. lcd screens and soldered in transformers etc on pcbs. stupid prices. very bad design. one part goes change the lot. if they sepirated things........disgusting service, personally if that was my customer and they recieved this service id be doing a little more than talking to gas safe. probably take it to MP and looking for CEO emails for ariston. mind you i sat in on a british gas service. ok the customer has insurance but service to MI. capita who runs gas safe also own british gas.......and probably all gas safe registration, including trainers.

    Im sticking with my intergas. 10 years old and just had a new gas valve. That and a door seal is all its ever had. And regular servicing of course.

      I’m sticking with my Potterton Flamingo RS50S, been in my house since I bought it 24 years ago. Just had to have a gas valve replaced, but apart from that occasional servicing everything else is as when I bought the house. I suspect it’s the original boiler from when the house was built in the 80s.
      Sure it’s not efficient as a new boiler but it’s a tank and has very little to go wrong. It’s a shame so much of the boiler is obsolete and parts are hard to get now.

      vaillant repair engineers can not be trusted. their back up is being pushed to someone on a spreadsheet(horrible experience) usually a young girl in a call center that has no clue and thats after waiting hours on phone for advice.. its a good product. but then add on the extras. that most customers will not need or understand. i prefer the vogue.
