I'm sure you probably know this already but I'll just say it/remind anyways. Ian has bipolar disorder and DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). So with reference to the DID he is speaking about himself and Mito (who is one of his alters). I don't know if Mito ever fronted for this mv or if hardly but whenever you see the one eye looking white or like a light shining on it in certain scenes I believe that's supposed to represent Mito.
Another thing is that Ian also covers one eye within the mv. I think it has to do with not understanding what his sense of self so it hard for him to look in the mirror directly. Sometime he either closes or squints one eye. He does talk about it in the Saywhatreacts interview.
I will always say this, Ian is such an amazingly, talented, brilliant creative. He truly puts himself 100% in all that he does. Thank you for reacting. I'd love to see you continue to explore DPR IAN.
I think you are spot on when you mention about being different people . He might be referring to Miito when he says "he" loved you.
I love DPR Ian! His music is so unique, so deep and has so many layers. I’ll see him as well live in London in couple months. I cannot wait.

Ian's music diversity is crazy he said so many times he loves rock he was actually in a rock band in his teens he recently said he really likes to go back to his rock roots and make more music in that genre .one thing u gotta understand is the fact that ian has bi polar & DID so he experiences many mood swings which u can literally hear it in most of his songs .all his works are made based on his emotions & what he's going through at the moment so when he's manic he's more likely to make upbeat funky stuff meanwhile when he's low you might get more classical instruments especially strings in his productions i just love how he can mix & match all these different styles into one song and give us so many different type of style but still keep his own signature
I really recommend you to watch his zack show interview or any video of his lives to get to know him better he got a way with words you might think wow that video of him talking looks so long i'll be bored but i am sure you won't there's just sth abt this guy that makes u want to really listen to him

I found DPR Ian when auto play takes over after listening to an album I selected. I noticed this guy’s husky voice and discovered it was him. Then I would hear other songs, like Insane, and I’m really liking this guy. He is a Korean Australian. Another guy I really like is Eric Nam. His lyrics and songs are great-in English, too. His House on the Hill Deluxe album is super good. If you haven’t reacted to him before, you should check him out.
