I think we need to ask ourselves, is Zamperla really as bad as we think they are? Other than the Volares, I don't think so. Even if the Thunderbolts aren't glass smooth, Zamperla has shown great potential as a manufacturer and now they have the ultimate oppurtunity to prove themselves. Do we still judge Vekoma on the SLCs or the corkscrew with bayerncurves? No we don't.

But new-gen Vekoma started out with a small-scale model. Not one of the world's tallest rollercoasters.
Zamperla hasn't created anything good, and they're renovating a strata. Meanwhile, Vekoma hasn't even gotten to build a hyper yet, despite their impressive track record.
I think, if Zamperla wants to turn themselves around, they should start by building an actually good rollercoaster at Luna Park. But no. Cedar Fair hired a company with no track record. For no reason.

Cedar Fair’s divorce from Intamin is unfortunate. It’s a shame that they wouldn’t even give Intamin a second chance in spite of their past mistakes.
Considering that Intamin is making a huge comeback in North America, this divorce is going to bite Cedar Fair in the ass if they aren’t willing to give their new stuff a chance. Their competition is already eating up new Intamin coasters, and these investments have totally paid off.

Their intamin grudge is beyond petty at this point to jeopardize the future of dragster this way. They’ve alienated basically everyone but B&M at this point, and obviously B&M wouldn’t be right for the project. They ran out of manufacturers to burn bridges with and are scraping the bottom of the barrel. This whole thing really does seem way too risky and the gravity of the undertaking could very easily eat zamperla alive for breakfast. This could have been an opportunity to bury the hatchet and make something extraordinary, but I don’t think that’s going to be the outcome. I’m far too skeptical.

Fun fact, coaster enthusiast opinions of rides and their manufacturers has no influence on a park operator's opinion. So you say they are scraping the bottom of the barrel, when in reality they are doing exactly what they want. Every manufacturer would work with CF in a heartbeat, because they are a business and businesses are meant to make money. CF has every reason to not want to work with Intamin, and I'm saying that as someone who loves Intamin. Think about it, Shoot the Rapids, TTD Bolt hitting someone, Maverick design flaw, Perilous Plunge, Xcelerator being down all the time, Xcelerator snapping a cable, i305 design flaw, all the issues with Volcano. There are a lot of good reasons for them to not work with Intamin again after they've cost them millions and millions of dollars. But Zamperla's rides are all chugging away with little to no issues.

They can’t even make a good flight ride. The Endeavour, a Kings Island is the most uncomfortable piece of crap I’ve ever sat in. The restraints don’t even lift up high enough for a person of 6 feet to get in them without ducking.
Their rides aren’t even reliable. The rides, a Kings Island, and the Cedar Point wild mouse, have had a good amount of downtime for such a simple design.

Yeah… It’s totally gonna suck. Not because of Zamperla’s involvement but because Cedar Point is desperately trying to make you think it’s still dragster and it’s not. Dragster is dead and will NG ever be back. Unless they keep the hydraulic launch, and even then it’s already obvious that they’re using at least a few gimmicks like a potential swing launch which is not only stupid. It’s boring.
The whole entire point of dragster was to make a strong effort to get the general public to experience what being in a DRAGSTER felt like. And the simple layout emulated the straight track of a drag race. (Cars; not dudes in heels) and the hydraulic launch system is the only one capable of giving you the feeling of explosive acceleration. Because that’s literally how they function.
LSMs are great. And I love every LSM coaster I’ve ever been on. But they’re not explosive. It’s much more of a forceful push.
I don’t really mind if TTD was at the end of its life and just needed to go. But just give it a happy send off, tear it down and build something else entirely. Don’t try to bamboozle me into believing it’s still dragster. The only reason they’re still calling it Dragster is because regardless of how much of a maintenance nightmare it was. It was still one of the primary reasons people chose CedarPoint over a different park. It was still extremely popular.

Personally, I think this is a really good chance for Zamperla to show off.
The Intamin approach has been done and it failed numerous times at Cedar Point.
Millennium- Had rough teething problems early on.
Wicked Twister- Had to have its support completely reconstructed after its first year..
Dragster- Been a nightmare since opening.
      Maverick- The Heartline Roll
Shoot The Rapids- Somehow Intamin screwed up a concept that has been around since the 60s.
Not to forget, Intimidator 305 had a lot of reconstruction done to it as well.
All of those examples, along with the fact that there is now proof that Intamin is difficult to deal with once the ride is already commissioned, makes me very happy they aren't going with Intamin.
Yes, Zamperla is a huge risk, but I'd rather go with the risky company that just restructured themselves, then go with the company that has screwed up on 80% of the projects your company has given them.
