It’s just a metal cone, but it definitely works very well.

How many times do I have to tell you? Deep fry, or Grill your Wings. THEN put a stick of butter in a pan along with a cup of Frank's Red Hot Cayenne Pepper Sauce and let the butter and Red Hot melt together. Put the wings in a mixing bowl and add the melted butter and Frank's Red Hot sauce the bowl with the wings. Shake the bowl until Wings are covered in sauce. Grab a beer and start eating.

It’s pretty fantastic for chicken. I can’t go back to just tossing wings on now. Ultimate wing accessory

Nah, vortex just does chicken really well. The slow n' sear or flametechgrill's smoke and sizzle is the best overall.

Wings look amazing. I tried to get my boy grab some corn at the store to grill up and he refused to even try it. Kids... Woudl like to see your other ideas you mentioned at the end. 👍👍

ahhh my future wife isn't a huge corn fan either. I'm originally from corn country so its all insane to me. I love a good corn on the cob! More ideas to come, its another big thermal mass in the weber so there are a few interesting things we can do with it.

I use a Vortex for hot n fast. I can peg my MasterTouch with that thing. I've cooked some of my best wings using it. Nice cook!

I was really surprised. The future wife even commented that the wings had a really nice crisp to them. I’m pleased with it for sure

I really need to give that a try. I have some more of my dry aged prime ribeyes left. Might need to give them a try this weekend!

If I’m grilling wings on my Weber I’m definitely using the Vortex. Word of caution, though. Over time the intense heat over the center grate can burn the coating off. So I’d either invest in a stainless grate or limit the amount of charcoal. In any case a full grate definitely lets you cook more wings around it than a Weber with the center pulled out.

Definitely agree. I’ve started to burn out the center grill insert already. It’s best to take it out when using the vortex

@@UFOBBQeven though I sold my old Slow n Sear I really like their stainless ezy spin grate. Not terribly cheap but a really nice grate for the Weber, especially for with a vortex.

If any one is wanting to try a Vortex, Run to your local walmart. Its on its 2nd clearance markdown for the end of summer. $13.50! I just picked it up because i didnt want it for the $40 price tag. But i'll take a chance for $13.
