Even Gilded Pleasures sounded like they were progressing while retaining that core vibe, but then chinese fountain came out, and it started fading away. Scott Montoya played a key role in the production side, and now that he's gone I would kiss those "hung at heart" days goodbye.

And I'd say another dark reverb drenched beach album would've gotten old to them. Plus they've basically took that style for all its worth and mastered it with the music they put out. So I hope they experiment more.

just saw em with doctor dog last nite. It was fucking sick. i hadnt heard of them. i was very pleased. the lead singer was pushing thru the crowd and saying "i gotta get to the front, i love this band" before the show started. i thought he was some hipster douche then he went onstage and started singing. i loled.
i'm surprised these guys aren't more well-known. they are one of the few bands i listen to that (aside from the 20 or so second songs, they don't count) literally every one of their songs is good and in the same style of their others. they do not deviate from this, and i love that. i'm sick of getting an album from another band and hearing maybe 2 or 3 decent songs and the rest don't even compare. every one of their songs i've heard across maybe 3 of their albums have all been great
