Very Nice, thanks! Is it only for text tables or can I do it in Dashboards also which were created by someone else in the company? There are a lot of sheets on the dashboard and I would like to highlight just one column "Totals" and not the whole row. Thanks
I think this could work for other types of sheets as well. For highlighting a column you might want to check this out: ruclips.net/video/WcqXEYqQiLk/видео.html&ab_channel=OneNumber-TableauExperts
Hi, thanks for the tips! When I was trying to create a set for just one selected value, it highlighted the whole row and wouldn't let me choose only one cell. Any hacks here?
Hi, you're welcome! Hmm, that's a funky one unless the set if based on the entire field (e.g. a Set based exclusively on Sub-Category, not Sub-Category and Year). Did you create the set prior to adding some dimensions to your worksheet? If so, maybe try building the entire worksheet first and then creating the set.
Im having some issues while doing this. The field I add the the Text portion of the Marks Card is a date. It splits the cells in half and I can no longer see the dates. I am also noticing that when I add the field to choose colors it does the same. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.
Can you change the date format? (help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/dates_custom_date_formats.htm) If that doesn't work, can you upload an example to Tableau Public and share a link so I can take a look at it? Thanks!
Do you know how to calculate the slope and show it in tableau.e.g. take superstore dataset do a moving average across time (month on x axis, Moving Average Sales on y axis) How to calculate the slope here (especially when date is on one dimension) Any ideas? Thanks
@@macrofis You're welcome. You might be able to trick it out with some placeholder axes. Let me know if this idea works for you: onenumber.biz/blog-1/2021/6/11/how-to-highlight-an-entire-row-in-tableau
Hello, I hope you're doing well. I want to start by saying that I've been following you for 2 months and your videos helped me a lot to start my career as data analyst, i'm still learning everyday from my experience and your videos so thank you a lot. I have 3 questions and I know that you're the only person that can help, wish that you have the time to answer me and even if you don't, I understand, you probably don't have much time. 1- I have a bar chart inside a table, when i have 10 lines, the bar length is correct and shows a different length for each percentage, but when I filter to show one line, for example I have 30%, the bar length is shown as 100%. The value is correct but the bar length is wrong. 2- I've created a filter action, i have dashboard 1; when i click on column A, it takes me to dashboard 2 and filtering the dashboard 2 based on column A. The column A has 2 values. For example: Column A has the Value "Sabri" and "Eric", all i want is: when i click on "Sabri" i want Tableau to take me to dashboard 2 and when i click on "Eric" i want Tableau to take me to dashboard 3. 3- I have a filter country and a filter city (both filters are single select); the filter city is relevant to the country so when I choose a country, the filter city shows me the cities of that country. The current behaviour is when I choose a country, the filter city automatically selects all values(multiple select) of that city. I want the filter city by default to select the first city not All. For example: country 1: America the cities are "New York" and "LA" and "Chicago" current behaviour: when i select America: The filter has a single select list showing "New York" and "LA" and "Chicago" selection ALL and ofc showing the result of the 3 of them. The expected results: when i select America: The filter has a single select list showing "New York" and "LA" and "Chicago" but selecting just "New York" by default. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you in advance.
doesn't work for me with several measures. As soon as I add the set to colors, it splits the values into those in the set and those not within the same cell.
I'm trying to do the same, but i have several measures. And when i try to drag highlight set onto "color" it crashes with error Unable to complete action Error executing subquery id: "64776" Error Code: B1F2A0F3 Internal Error - An unexpected error occurred and the operation could not be completed. Do you know anything about it?
I don't know anything about that error unfortunately! If you use a workaround to set up each measure as it's own "Bar Column" (like this: onenumber.biz/blog-1/2021/6/11/how-to-highlight-an-entire-row-in-tableau) and then try to highlight, does that resolve the issue?
