Lit absolutely nailed it with 'Zip-Lock'! The high-energy vibes and catchy riffs make this song an instant classic. The official music video perfectly captures that carefree, rebellious spirit we all love. It's amazing how their performance brings so much life and attitude to the screen. Still a banger after all these years!
And Lit was one of the best bands, as I'm rediscovering. MOST of A Place In the Sun is PERFECT, and Atomic was great too, horribly underrated. Lit was kind of dismissed, wrongly, as a one or two hit wonder, it seems
I was born in '99 and I would love to go back to those times. Great people and personalities. I kind of regret that these days there are no more groups of friends like there used to be.
I think this video, and particular this BAND, captures the true essence of fun 1990's rock, especially in Orange County (which this band is based). They are very underrated, and technically just a solid, solid band. Listen to the interesting bass riffs and drums. Combined with superior vocals, they had it. I saw them live, and it is still the best rock and roll show I have every seen. LIT, please come back! With today's music using auto tune machines, we need more true rock bands.
Dee Snider parodying his own band's (Twisted Sister's) "We're Not Gonna Take It" is pure gold. I loved Blink-182 and Lit and never knew this song had an official video until 2022. Thanks, RUclips!
@@DodgeandGMkiIIingFurdDaiIy its kind of a mix in between the two, some of the things Dee says were said in "I wanna rock," not "We're not gonna take it."

Keanu Reeves swimming to the bottom of the river, taking the football off that rusty trophy and reliving his glory days! Used to watch that movie over and over again.
Lol ya I just realized that and I've loved this song since it came out, I was like did blink 182 just crash their music video lol, idk if anyone has heard the wonder years cover of this song but it's pretty awesome, thoughts?
i remember this band's videos on tv when i was real young (born '92). then bands like blink 182, sum 41, gob, etc. took over. but everything came full circle, been listening to Lit a lot lately.
Here’s a Lit story. June 1999 after Navy boot camp flying to Okinawa to my first duty station. Lit is on the planes “radio” station in the rotation of 20ish songs. Zip Lock and My own worst enemy playing a few dozen times in my 19 year old ears. Bought the CD at the Kadena PX, listened to it through the deployment and then after the end of 1999 it got shelved. Now it’s nostalgia of a way simpler time 25 years ago.
Beth they were streaking for the What’s My Age Again video which was simultaneously filmed at the same time as Zip Lock was. I’m assuming the director left this in there for comedic reasons lol
When i went to Antartica on a deployment for 13 months straight i used to sing this song everyday there because i missed so much my fiancè and i wished i could put her in a ziplock i keep her there with me… i missed her everyday… that sounds crazy but it is hard to go to a inhospitable place for so king when you miss someone so much… thank God we manage to go through that and we are still together! Thanks LIT! You should come to Brazil someday! 🇧🇷♥️
He's better than you think- especially for thinking up hooky riffs. He doesn't go off on single note solos, but for this band's music he doesn't need to.
I can only remember sunny days in ‘99
twisted sister opening ... with the lead singer of twisted sister
Dee Snider. good time.
Trojann Perez it originated from Animal House, that's where Twisted Sister got it from.
Exactly twisted sister so close 80s

Cheers, Replacements! 🍻🏈
That’s where I first heard it. An instant classic movie and song.
"That's why girls don't play the game, Coach."
Thank you! I've seen The Replacements so many times... But I was just thinking of this song and wondering what movie I know it from xD
Cheers Shane
I'm convinced that the entire year of 1999 took place on a Saturday in June next to a pool
Serlok Brixe thanks for ruining the vibe.
How do I delete somebody else's comment
@@lukej8430 You have to delete your own first, before you are able. Every single fucking time. And that must be the comment you post.
But yeah, 14:59 cover. I had the cassette, but might've lost it...
I was there in 99 and can confirm. the entire year was indeed on a saturday. It was an unbeatable year.
Currently jamming out to this album in 2023, I'm stuck in this 90's era and I'm completely okay with it 🤘😊🤘 Bring it back damnit!
Hell yes, great times! 🤘🏻

I miss the good ole dad scream on the beginning of almost every punk rock 2000 band 👌👌🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
lol yes.
Random Moments With Lena I carried an M16 and you carry that sick repulsive Electric twanger !!!
This is not punk.
this isn't punk😂
Lit would be considered Power Pop. Power Pop to me shares a lot of elements with Pop-Punk, but it's heavier because of the Alternative Rock influence.
Maaaan how is this still under a million views. If only the masses knew that this *whole* album was absolutely incredible.
Wish we could turn back time to these days. Best era of music.
The intro of the movie called the replacements sent me here.
@@MikeJay-on5tt Loved that movie as a kid. Tried rewatching it a few weeks ago and oof did it not age well.
That's a steereeeeeech.
Not sure the best era of music came from simple basic three chord song structures with very rudimentary guitar playing but to each his own I guess

idk if you'll read this after 12 years but there's been a pretty big punk revival on sites like bandcamp
