I love how all your videos talk about the laning microdetails, you are the only channel I learn from and your videos helped me go from diamond 2 to master 400 LP. Keep it up!
Videos like these give me so much hope for my soloq games, It is so clear how on a champion that doesn't normally stomp hard like viktor, if you play it near perfectly you can almost 1v9 any game
I always feel like Viktor is bad for solo q because I have no early impact but I guess if you manipulate the wave and poke when the enemy missteps you can gain a big advantage to carry, especially in dia
If you are interested in learning how to win lanes like this you can also look at vids of Dopa playing Oriana he does the same things to take perfect trades and win lanes hard on a champion you don’t often think of doing that.
at 3:15 I believe its actually better that he didnt hit the e and instead used it to shove the wave. If he stopped Zoe base there by using his e he wouldn't have it to crash the wave, and I believe the enemy JG would of bailed Zoe out by either shoving the wave back into faker or freezing, because Fakers oom this would result in a losing position, This is true especially because it wasn't a cannon wave and zoe misses a lot off this base
It's funny because to many people, without these explanations, faker may look like he's just randomly doing lots of stuffs but in actuality so much is going through his head.
@@mdzed5767 she has burn from pots + the caster + her q was up shortly + electrocute? isn't trades like that good when u have a lee jgl so u can force tp before chapter
@@NguyenHieu-ck6nz well I’m asking why void over deathcap even if you’re ahead, is the %pen worth going for over deathcap crazy AP even if they don’t have MR
Crazy AP doesn't mean better dmg. The base MR is way enough for you to buy penetration due to how calculation in this game works. And in 90% case, buying penetration item (armor as well, not just magic) worth more than AD/AP. And also buying HP 60-70% of the time worth than buying A/MR even if your opponent has little to zero dmg of the other type, especially in the early game, due to how EHP works. Raw AD/AP items grants you almost nothing but a stat check (but stat checks perform well mostly on bruiser type champion only). Or buying it for the "effects" that it grants. And you do also need to calculate the gold efficiency as well. Rabadon will likely just worth early for champ that scale other factors as well like Vlad or Veigar (and since Veigar can stack indefinitely, they'll more likely building tank for more survivability rather than raw AP). Other than those case, Rabadon would definitely a good 5th or 6th item, you buy early only if you're a smurf and for sure don't need anything else. (You also have to consider the effect you need, Stasis? Speed from Cosmic Drive/Lich Bane?, ...) -------------------------------- E.g: you facing an opponent with just 50MR (average stat of champion around end of laning phase if not building any MR items, but most likely opponents will buy Merc and having 1-2 MR shard). And you got a skill with 100% AP ratio for easy calculation. (Actually only a few champs got scaling that high, but it will be a good example since ppl always talking about "Buying AP on champs got high scaling and buying penetration for champs got low scaling". P/s: Actually I only agree with this for Zoe and Nidalee, if you can hit Q max range most of the time). I will use Cho'Gath's Q: 300 base dmg (at max rank, lv9 if you max Q first) + 100% AP. You got 70AP from Everfrost (it's just for the sake of example, and because of many ppl building it on Cho' AP, plz buy Luden or Rocketbelt for best result). And 9*2 = 18 AP from shards. You would dealt 388 dmg, and reduces to 258.67 (50MR => dmg × 100/(100+50)). ------------ With 3600 gold, you can buy Rabadon, which makes your AP -> 280.8 (aka (120+88)×1.35). => You would dealt 580.8 dmg, reduces to 387.2 ------ Also with that gold, buy 1 Void Staff (2800) + 1 Amplifying Tome (435), not even reaching 3600 yet. This would give 40% Magic pen, 65+20 = 85 AP. Thus, dealing 473 dmg, reduces to 363.8 dmg (from 50MR -> 30MR). Only a little below while still having 365 gold left. ------------ And that is a skill with both high base dmg and high AP ratio. With a lower ratio, obviously it's not where buying AP would shine. Also buying Magic Pen early can opt-out 40% of any future MR opponents gain. While AP does not (except for Rabadon also gives your AP 1.35×, but that's not really worth when they gaining MR, not just from items, but base growth, drakes, ...)
@@MFGeedorah47 also for the 2nd part I mentioned E.g. you have 1000HP and 30MR, with 450 gold, would you buy 150HP (400G) or 20MR (450G) At this time, you'll have to calculate (1000+150)×1.3 vs 1000×(1.3+0.2) The first would give 1495 EHP vs magic dmg while also having 1150EHP vs phys (if you have 0 armor). While the 2nd option give 1500 EHP vs magic dmg but still 1000 EHP vs phys (if 0 armor) During early game, you don't have that much HP to begin with, so increasing multiplier wont help much, but you need to build the base number first. After you got decent amount of HP, then A/MR will be worth. And also becuz of opponent buying Pen early (for the first case), if you buy A/MR, you just waste your gold for a thing that auto lose 30-40% value (serylda/dominik/void). But then there's other factor like %HP dmg at which you... have to build A/MR again... except when facing Vayne, you'd need to slow her attack speed) But all big A/MR item will give HP anyways (except stoneplate) so it's kinda okay. But most of the time, you should avoid buying cloth armor or null-magic mantle, unless you only have it left to finish the big item. Prioritize the HP component first.

Its worth noting how almost entirely worthless this advice is for most of league players. Early viktor uses a lot of mana, for little damage. Faker is able to get this lead because he misses like 1 E the entire laning phase. If he had missed 2 more hed be OOM. He is simply trying to Q+auto Zoe whenever she walks up to farm or harass and he would sometimes rather secure a minion kill than use the auto for harass. This type of harassment works especially well for Viktor because he gains a shield from using his Q so the enemy can never fully trade back the damage unless they use more than 1 ability.
