I was in marching band. Marching in a curve is very difficult. Ohio State has been doing it with great precision since the 1970s that I know of. To me, this is the most magnificent thing to ever happen on a football field.
I marched for Purdue. When they did this against us I had to stand and applaud (I was supposed to be crouched down on the sideline. The drum major yelled at me and it was very visible during films in Monday's practice but I didn't care. I had to pay my respect where it had been earned. They were outstanding.
it doesn't sound impressive but then you watch it. my GODS the crossovers are a wonderfully terrifying thing. And oh, the triumph of that bounding dotted i!
Although I’m part of a military marching band, I gotta say...pretty impressive, even if you aren’t a corps band, it still looks amazing. Props to the band directors and drum majors, really puts a tear to my eye seeing hard work paying off. And by hard work, I mean hours of practice both in and off the field. Good job Ohio.
I'm a Notre Dame football fan since childhood but always remember how exciting I found it on bowl game day when Script Ohio was seen on tv at halftime. Remarkable!
My great grandfather was in the Cleveland marching band, and I inherited his brass clarinet earlier this year. Marching bands never cease to amaze me. Incredible work
No matter how old we get or where we are when we hear our school song start up, oh the pride and chills❤❤❤❤ love this, thanks for sharing your videos so much. I love them. Love our Bucks and great band so much. GO BUCKS!❤❤
Well... August 31, 2024. We have Akron at home. I have seen everything that there has to be seen. So... it is late and I am watching this for the 8th time straight. Go, Buckeyes!!!!!!
This is a true story. I had a gathering at my house one night and one of my guests mentioned he was in the University of Michigan Marching Band. I just couldn't resist. I asked him if he ever got to dot the "i". At first he didn't know what I was talking about, but after a few minutes he figured it out that I was trolling him. His first words were "Aw, Man". Then he added a "#### You". By the way, I am a MSU Spartan, so anytime I get a chance to mess with a Wolverine, I take full advantage.
script is so fun to do we wright Magics across our field sadly this is the last year I get to do script because im a senior but its part of pregame this year so I get to do script more then once XD
@@roberthudson1959 - What is the song? Anyone know the name? I just heard it in a scene in the movie Ford Vs. Ferrari. (When Ken Miles is walking out to LaMans, but the pace is WAY slower.)
This is just enough to prove that we are better than Michigan. I would like to see then spell Michigan with their band. And they don't have a sousaphone to dot an "i". All I can say is, better luck next year Michigan.
As a player in a high school marching band that does this with our town name, I can confirm it is extremely awful to practice. Especially the music. All of us hate Le Reg.
@@StuartAxe Oh thank you 😅 I was searching that for weeks. I was kind of confused when British light division was playing the same tune as Ohio state 🤣
I'm not an Ohio State fan, but I could watch Script Ohio 1000 times and never get tired of it. One of the coolest traditions in college sports!
It sure is
Oh, same. I'm completely obsessed with Script Ohio
It never gets old!
Yeah,only assholes hate this.
You should be an Ohio State fan. Lol. Good luck to you and your team.
Absolutely breathtaking! The precision is incredible!

TBDBITL has been performing "Script Ohio" since the late 1930's.
It never gets old! One of the greatest band formations of all time!!

You just used corps and band in the same sentence.... >_< lol
As the "i" dotter that day i have to say its always awesome
awesome, just awesome
I want to dot the "i" so bad what does it take I have played the tuba for 2yrs now I'm a sophomore in high school
Dylan Douglas In order to dot the i, you need to be a member of the Ohio State University Marching Band's Sousaphone Section for 4 years.
+Dylan Douglas PRACTICE!!! PRACTICE!!! and most of all PRACTICE!!!!
+Chase Holloway i will and do i just hope that i will be good enough to do it or good enough even to make the marching band
I'm a Notre Dame football fan since childhood but always remember how exciting I found it on bowl game day when Script Ohio was seen on tv at halftime. Remarkable!
Arguably one of the most the most badass field entrances in all of college marching band.
Overall, yes. But from a pure band perspective... nothing compares.
I don't see any argument here...
I mean what even compares
I went to Ohio State from 1963 to 1966 and I still cry when I see the script
Way to go OSU.
C an't explain it but I get teary too , I guess a lifetime of watching it and the memories. 70 yrs old and I get more emotional.:)
Goose bumps and tears every time I watch this! O-H!
I O
I never get tired of seeing this. Amazing job!
My great grandfather was in the Cleveland marching band, and I inherited his brass clarinet earlier this year. Marching bands never cease to amaze me. Incredible work
As a non-OSU fan and ex-band geek, I have nothing but respect for OSU's marching band. Best routine in college ball.
The tuba playing by himself at the end impressed me more than anything
This gives me the chills every time I watch it. GO BUCKS!
What a great band, my school went to the buckeye invitational this year so we got to see them.
No matter how old we get or where we are when we hear our school song start up, oh the pride and chills❤❤❤❤ love this, thanks for sharing your videos so much. I love them. Love our Bucks and great band so much.

Goosebumps!....Born and raised Ohio State! Go Get'm Bucks! #ChampsBleedScarletAndGray
The first 40 seconds looks like total chaos. How the heck do they all find their place?
I love how Script ohio starting to form so cool!

Enemy of my enemy is my friend, beat blue ♥️💚
Today is the 82nd anniversary of them making this
LOVE this! saw the high five at @3:45 and loved the tuba player that dotted the I's commitment to the role! (:
Bailey Houston it is apparently considered a big honor to dot the i.
What is more awesome than Script Ohio in the Shoe? Quad Script Ohio in the Shoe of course.
@BrutusBuckeyePlays Late, but when the alumni band is there, they'll do quad script ohios, one on each quarter.
Am I the only one who has trouble with "C'mon Ohio" when singing the Buckeye Battle Cry?
I have to admit, Script Ohio is truly incomparable.
Incredible!
Ya' know....I never get tired of watching this, and I'm not even a Buckeyes fan!
At least they still know what script is.
Your statement says it all. Thank GOD I don't have to signd witness anything with two X X!
Their called the best dam band in the land for a reason!
script is so fun to do we wright Magics across our field sadly this is the last year I get to do script because im a senior but its part of pregame this year so I get to do script more then once XD
Katie Claar im a freshman and we wright west across our field with the alumni during the homecoming game every year
Saturday October 4 at Maryland for first B1G home game
At my school we have a picture of him holding his hat high up and yelling yeah!
I want to be in Ohio State so bad as a sousaphone player but I’m pretty sure my GPA won’t cut it :(. It’s cool tho ig
Okay, Ohio has done ONE cool thing, then.
But can they play bad apple on it
I believe that song goes back to world war two.
The song was written in 1879, the drill was first performed in 1936.

Loki Laufeyson you need a massive band to spell Michigan. A band of a size that no one has
@@shvlogs4071 Exactly!
Not that they can actually spell their own states name anyway.
I marched for Purdue. We were large enough (350 +).
wheres the pastebin link
I don’t know how they do it
Very impressive. There’s no way this is fun to practice.
As a player in a high school marching band that does this with our town name, I can confirm it is extremely awful to practice. Especially the music. All of us hate Le Reg.
does that marching technique seem weird to anyone else?
the technique, at OSU has its roots in military style.
OSU band was ROTC sponsored into the 1950s.
thus its military roots. OSU band is old school.
Is standard bicycle style chair steps. Good collegiate bands perform chair step.
get your lowstep propaganda out of here
👏👏👏👏
Down in ohio swag like ohio
my cousin is the i it is always so loud in the house
you spelled ohio like orio
i know
SWAG IN OHIO
Song name?
