  • Tobermory is a bucket list item on our Great Loop adventure but we have to cross the Georgian Bay to get there. We experience the must see Flowerpot Island, The Grotto and the stunning Bruce Peninsula lakeshore like only a boater can. Wingfield Bay and Lion's Head provide us with safe harbors. This is an EPIC side trip you have to see for yourself! Oh ya, we also crash the drone. No filters and no AI used. Pure amazing nature at its finest.

Not yet! We are making our way through the inland rivers. Hopefully weather will cooperate for a December crossing

Wow! Tobermory not friendly? That has def. not been our experience in the past 15 yrs of going there. Very strange that this would happen....

We found it odd as well. I noted several commercial docks in the harbour and perhaps that was the motivation for the harbourmaster to turn us around.

@@ROMILoopers Actually she technically can't turn anyone away as it is a federal port of refuge. They will find you a spot even if you have to tie up to another boat. I've never heard of anyone being turned away.??

Wow, that has not been our experience when ever we have been there. Carla has gone out of her way to accommodate us. Even last year when we were headed home, we just need to provision and to get fuel. She put us up on the barges so we could go to the stores and eat lunch. Plus her staff are very friendly along when the rest of the town. Even the grocery store owner who is about a mile out of town. He drove me back to the marina and helped carry my grocery's to the boat, and would not take a tip.. Very strange???
