Hi Nikki, Just wanted to wish you and your entire family a very Happy and Blessed Holiday Season and always. Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🙏Much Blessings to you. ✝Lord-Jesus-Christ dot 🙏c🙏o🙏m
Watching your channel makes me crazy crave some fresh Maple Syrop in my Coffee and on my eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausages ! Sooooooo yummy ! Good for you too ! 😃👌👍
Hi 👋 I like 👍 what you do and keep your self Busy every time I do see you and tell us a lot and I am very proud of you you keep up good work and don’t fall down out there in the Woods and good luck on your Turkey hunting and you get two of them see you later your friend William
Yepper. Same story. Laser eye surgery 10 yrs ago. Have worn reading glasses for the past 5 yrs. Recently developed a lot of floaters. Probably deteriorating eye retina. Funny. Haven’t observed many commercials for laser eye surgery lately. Back to your video. Great job. Thanks.
You are seriously the hardest working Gal I have ever seen. Love the videos and your stories behind what you do. Absolutely intrigued..... Keep it up please🤗
I did receive my order from you with the sweet thank you note ,,and we are enjoying it so much ,,thank you for the syrup and all you guys do ,,,and there is a good thing about your troublesome eyes ,,they are beautiful,ha ha ha so don’t fret too much.
Love the videos, Nikki. I've been a contact lens wearer, well, pretty much forever. Annoying? Sometimes. But your Lasik story is another in my catalog of, "First it was great, but....". Now I'm glad I've just stuck with contacts and their minor annoyances. And you thought we came here for the syrup. Ha!
Yes I wish people told me their experiences before I got it as I would have never gotten it! You’re smart stick with contacts! I’ll be going back to the eye doctor again soon and plan on getting contacts again
I think people say that to make themselves feel better about litter....😂 because I find deer beds and sheds all over the place and never exactly where I find balloons.
@@MapleFarmer the highest ground around my home we see herds of deer on in a grass field , if any hunters go to the area to hunt they see them and leave and don’t come back for days , if you are forty foot high in a popular tree and they do come back they smell you blow and leave , but I have to go up there several times a year just to collect all the balloons.
Thank you Nikki and your family for bringing us along on your 2022 maple season! So much looking forward to the 2023 season! Now get some sleep and rest! Lol! Can’t wait to see your other videos you post the rest of the year!
Hi Nikki, Interested in your comment re Lasik eye surgery. I too had it about 8 years ago and had the exact same problems re driving and halo ( christmas tree) I solved it by getting driving glasses which corrected the reading eye back to distance perfectly. I'm a bit older than you but still really enjoy the positives especially working in steam or feeding calves / We've loved learning about Maple harvest something not done here in NZ
Just arrived at your youtube channel and subscribed. Voted for you in The Gundies. Grew up in Elmira, NY then moved to Buffalo area. Had a cabin near North Java so I know the area. Moved south to Georgia about 12 years ago. Used to take Cub Scouts on field trips to maple syrup farms. Once you try PURE maple syrup, everything else is crap.
Moved to Athens, GA (home of the National Champion Bulldogs). Takes some time to get used to 90+ temps in June, thank God for a/c! Do not miss the lake effect snows though. Got back up to WNY in October to watch my UGA club level hockey team play Buff State (I did my undergrad at U/B and grad studies at Buff State), St. Bonaventure, and Niagara. BTW, placed an order with y'all for some of your syrup.
My dad has been saying for years I would loose the eye sight I have at 20/10. That has been from when I was 30, twenty years ago. Just got checked, still 20/10, but due to all the computer work I do I need glasses for the computer and bifocals for reading even with 20/10. right now my eyes adjust for the test, but the one thing I can not focus on up close, so I'm far sighted. I had that problem from 26 to 28when I grew another inch and needed bifocals for those 2 years.
Considering you work outside in the elements, pick up some heavy duty prescription safety glasses (and Rx sunglasses) so your eyes are always protected and you can maintain visual focus while working.
I had some major complications from lasik about 20 years afterwards. Keep getting checkups with opthalmologist if possible. Lasik as a dirty side that nobody talks about...
My problem is the tics.. I have had lymes disease 2vyears in a row. Yes 2 separate cases and it has kicked my ass leaving long term affects. My knee and vision.. I have a small farm and spend every day outside.. So be careful... oh ya I'm in upstate NY as well.
Hello again Nikki! So sorry to hear about your lasik problems, I’ve heard all kinds of stories about the process, both good and bad. I also wear glasses, never even considered lasik and I have never been able to put anything in my eyes so contacts are out! So glasses it is! Your glasses look fabulous on you! I’m approaching 60 and don’t enjoy nighttime driving anymore. Maple question for you…approximately how long does it take you and/or your dad & brother to pull all those taps? Loved your turkey video also! Keep up the great video!
Thank you for sharing so much of the maple season processes. Being outside a lot you should wear prescription sunglasses - UV protection. They don't have to be tinted.
I always learn something by watching your videos. I don’t recall a video last year about walking the lines to remove the taps. Thanks for show us that.
I got too got lazer eye lense surgery. Was goof for about 15 years. Then had to get glasses…then a few years later…..retinas decided to come loose. After all those surgeries my eyes were dry….and became allergic to preserves in the drops…lo
Nikki, those are beautiful woods you have there! I bet there are tons of deer and turkey! Reminds me of the Maine woods. You are really pretty with or without glasses, and maybe more so with. Also, you are a really hard worker! Wow! DO you ever slow down? Lol
Hi Nikki Thanks for sharing your 2022 maple syrup season with us. We went on a road trip this weekend from Ontario Canada to Pennsylvania down Hwy 20 through Varysburg and all of a sudden there it was, "I know that Sugar Shack" thats Boxlers new maple syrup shed. I boiled about 10 gallons syrup on a wood stove I built and it was great following your operation.
I have seen nearly all your videos. I will say you have the prettiest smile and I hope it never goes away. I did purchase two containers of Mapel syrup, o may it is so good. look forward to seeing more of your videos. By the way, you look good with glasses. I know they can be a pain at times especially being an outdoors person like you are.
Thank you for all the videos chronicling the family's maple season. Enjoyed a plate of waffles this morning with your Amber syrup. Delicious. When will you be out musky fishing?
Sorry about your Lasik experience, my friend lost 95% of his vision as a result. 32,000 taps, how long does that take to tear down???! Unrelated, when watching you dig out downed lines from the snow/ice, I wondered why you don't have stakes with a V on top to hold up the lines? But, what do I know about Maple farming, absolutely not nothing! Real easy just to sit back and watch all that hard work!
It looks much more enjoyable in the woods now. When you said you were looking for sheds I thought you meant the pump building I thought boy see dose need glasses but I got it now. Thanks
I’m not sure I would be excited to remove all those taps. The glasses look good although I’m guessing your perception is pretty high. My daughter has special contact lens that shapes the eye at night while she sleeps. It works for her with no side effects
Love your channel!! Getting ready to place my next order since I just used the last of the dark amber syrup making a bourbon maple mustard pork tenderloin 😋 Support your local family farms!! 👍🍁🌷
You must try the syrup. As soon as my order arrived it was pancakes for dinner. I was not disappointed at all and the maple flavor without all the sugars was a perfect fit. Plus, she writes you a little personal thank you note. Very sweet and cute girl. I love the glasses.
I've really enjoyed being along for your production season and look forward to the sanitizing taps and droplines, and bottling videos. Actually, if it would be OK with your Dad, it would be great to learn more about your dairy operation as well.
When you remove your drops, are you cutting them off at the T? We usually leave them and just pull the spile, as we use disposable check valves. Haven't seen you method done before, always good to see different ideas and ways to do things.
Thanks for sharing your videos, I love watching and learning more about maple syrup. I ordered some of your syrup. I can't wait to try it in my coffee, have been putting honey in my coffee and oatmeal .
I hope it was a good season. My question is while I appreciate your process of cleaning upon starting next season why don’t you place drops and tap at the same time? Why do you walk the 32,000 tap lines twice?
Couple of my family members had Lasik done and it's been a much better experience for them. I've worn glasses since about age 12, wear them all day long. I'll use contacts very infrequently, such as motorcycling with a helmet, or needing full coverage sunglasses on a bright day. I've heard enough cases such as yours which really put a pause on my desire to go have Lasik done.
Pretty is Pretty, glasses are a fact of life, You are the second person I am aware of that is on the other side of Lasik, seems to be a recurring result. How about a video about how you guys go through and clean all the lines and sanitize them for the next season, are there any special steps to store them? Great Video, you always have good content !!!!
Could you tell us how long on average, the spouts and drop lines last?? Also, do you run the identical same route pattern for all your trees next year? Very interesting, thanks!! S. Carolina

HI, ok to ask here I hope, when are you going to get some more of the maple leaf syrup bottles?? I want a couple, went to your site showed it was sold out
Your woods provide sap while being a haven for wildbirds. They speak everyday, especially, as spring arrives. There is so much you could share as you untap next a tree and carefully listen with a birdly reality.
@@MapleFarmer when you listen you will realize a new understanding. A camera can be nice. Yet, you truly can known the sound of the woods. Even the trees speak.
So you remove the droplines every year and sanitize them? How much production increase do they claim you get doing that? And do you have trouble with the quick connector leaking?
Are you using a connector or a quick connect fitting of some kind for the dropline piece that comes out of the woods? Is that totally replaced each year along with the spouts, or what’s the procedure with the piece that comes out of the woods? Just finished today at Goodrichs in Eden- 64,150 gallons
You've mentioned before about how the drop lines are sanitized ( a video of that coming up ? ) but are the main lines also sanitized with some solution run through them as well. I am surprised there is even a need to sanitize due to the simple fact that in the process of reverse osmosis filtering and then boiling that volume to create the end product which is pumped into the barrels, wouldn't that ensure a perfect product. Really no different then boiling water to ensure its safety in drinking it or am I missing something ?
@@tarefoot I've found if the taps and lines don't get sanitized, a yucky crud grows in them because of the natural sugars in the sap. Enough that could possibly produce "off-flavors" in next years sap. You also don't want any loose crud getting in your reverse osmosis filters and requiring that they be cleaned (flushed) sooner than necessary. Even though there are pre-filters, small particles would get through to the RO filters.
What kind of Tees are you using to be able to take the drop off the tee? I see it’s D&G taps. I looked in the 2022 D&G catalog, but can’t find anything. I would like to take them off and clean them also.
Now go find a warm beach and relax for a while. Thanks for all the great videos!
I do want to take a nice little vacation soon! Lol
Eyes are pretty important. That’s good to know I have stigmatism everybody kept telling me I should do the lasik surgery, but I don’t think so.
