@@kou6920 but if you use a western-style bed (which is more frequent than floor-laid mattress in bigger houses), futon only means blanket while 'sheet' (シート) is laid between the bed mattress and blanket.

Most commonly it is The bedding combo I've mentioned. The other meaning is a zen meditation mat. She was using Futon not moufu or buranketto while speaking Japanese so the odds of meaning the English word futon are quite slim.
