Hello, My name is Dave. I'm new to bidding on jobs. I need to do a bid on a ceiling. It is 1008 sqft. It is 18 feet high. I wanted to know what's the best method to charge. I have to worker whom I pay $25 per hour. The customer buys the paint. I will have to rent scissors lift to get to the ceiling as well. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Im sure the job is done now but you dont need a sissors lift to do a 18 ft ceiling unless there are accents or beams in the middle of the ceiling that needs to be cut in around and you have no means to transport a scaffold. If you are going to take on such jobs you may as well invest in the scaffold anyways. GET THE WHEELS lol.
I make 35/hour or more if I'm able to complete a job faster then I bid. However I'm not just a painter and charge the same hourly rate for all remodeling projects in my bid. I make my bid based on making at least 35 hour for me and my partner. People will pay for good work, get good...get paid!

you are way under valuing your work. How much does your mechanic shop charge you? Bet its $85 hr or more.

Just because you have 20 years Painting….doesn’t mean you know have to paint…..I can tell within 5 minutes if you have 20 years
