Lol. I'm laughing at George taking ALL the blankets. It is a beautiful blanket, Crystal. I've never made anything in a bulky 5 (or more) weight. I like worsted 4 weight and a little DK 3 weight, but that's it. I have used sock yarn for socks. Love the socks, don't love the yarn.
I may try something in a bulky 5 soon. Nothing this large until I see if I like it. Thanks for all of your beautiful patterns and clear, easy-to-follow instructions. 💕💕💕

I usually use that shell stitch on my baby blankets. To use it for a whole blanket- WOWWEEEE!
When I was a kid, my favourite colour combination was purple and yellow. Every princess dress in my colouring books was purple and yellow or sometimes purple and orange if my sisters were using the yellow at the time. Needless to say, your blanket is beautiful to me and George has supurb taste!

Hello ..❣️Shirley from England here.. a blanket like this is definitely a MUST have for a “duvet day” almost worth having a headache to get to snuggle up with it. I’m hoping Woolwarehouse not an hour away from my home might have the yarn. They do do some of this brand’s yarn. They used to have a fabulous shop open to the public . Sold everything you could possibly need in haberdashery , but closed it during lockdown and have no plans to re open it, mores the pity 😢 could have had a lovely feel before I bought 😢xxx

A couple years ago I bought enough Caron Big Cakes to crochet a Queen-size blanket, but w/out color control it was so ugly I stopped work. The yarn has super stitch definition & with color control it would create a marvelous throw with this pattern. Thank you for solving my dilemma of how to turn my ugly blanket into something worth keeping!

Still pretty new to crocheting. I love this blanket. I just downloaded it to save it. After in done making a baby blanket then placemats for my brother in law and fingerless gloves for my stepdaughter. Then I will try this one. Alone with one day all the other blankets Crystal has that I saved lol

Michaels just clearanced some Caron cakes. Some were skinny cakes. Some were a newer cake with the fuzzy pieces that stick out (I forget the name) and some were cinnamon swirl cakes. $5. I got one skinny in macaroon (they only had one) and 3 cinnamon swirl in citrus twist. I started a granny square baby blanket in the citrus twist. I’m very into baby blankets right now. I added a gray cat appliqué to the one I made with the Pioneer woman yarn in coral that I got on Clearance. I only used 4.5 skeins on that one and I have enough to make another blanket with that color. I have a lot of the other colors. I’m doing a bobble blanket in the blue. I put it down to start the granny square blanket because the granny square is so much faster and it’s 3 weight so it’s easier to hold.

Love this! Colors and stitch is sooo pretty.
I was kind of playing around with this, and did a little modification (not that I don't LOVE the "floppy" shells - I DO)... But what I did to modify it, was on the "row 5 repeat", as I worked the double crochets across, I would work a slip stitch into the top "back" loop (front as it's facing you on that row) of the center double crochet of the fan (counting the chain 2 as a stitch) just to anchor the fan down to the fabric. I then worked the "row 6 repeat" normally, being careful NOT to work into the slip stitches (to keep stitch count correct). The finished result is that the fan is anchored, and kind of resembles a sort of cable if you were to use the fabric vertically - such as with a sweater panel.
