- Just because the calendar is changing to a new year doesn't mean we're ready for it yet. John, Alex, and Allen walk through tangible ways to consecrate 2024 to God and prepare our hearts for what's ahead.
I'm watching this on June 3rd, which is a time of new beginning for me as I move from one coast to the other in one week ... new everything! So much is unknown. I am grateful and expectant because this is a God directed move and a big change for me. I'm thankful He's my anchor, my joy, my hope and I know that it's all good - something good is coming!
I just want to run away.... yes I totally can relate to that phrase.

I read the Machine Stops in the 70,s before most of what it described even existed. It is chillingly prophetic, particularly the loss of human contact.

I’ve wanted to run away for the past few years. I really am yearning for a break. I somehow don’t think that’s coming. It’s an election year, and the world is in upheaval. We have to find rest and peace in Jesus. Because….I don’t see world peace coming around any time soon. Come get us, Lord! I’m about done here.

Woke at 4am. Similar to Christmas morning. Began with Wild at Heart podcast. Felt washed of the moment with love and peace.

Today’s chat bled into my annual Goodreads challenge beginning the year with Admiral McRavens Make Your Bed read and review.
I’m one of THOSE people who tackled annual resolutions. For decades.
This year upon reflection felt a relief hearing the podcast. Helping me process feelings of stagnation.
The past few years were tough because I couldn’t plan a children’s book tour that should have happened fall of 2020. Then, a hurricane type storm Derecho at 140 mph devasted my office and creative arts studio. Then, 2022 just when I thought this is the year a suddenly in January. Partial rotator cup tear.
Today’s message gave me a fresh perspective of flow. The interruptions had been resolved including my arm is healed.
2024 goals have picked up where tragic happenstances outside my control drained my soul for a few years. Hearing the message gave me great joy and a new perspective on consecration by faith.
I’ve passed on the message link to my review readers. Maybe it will nurture someone else’s walk, too.
What’s been especially refreshing is feeling nurtured by both Staci and John once again. Though, feeling like a family guide post from elder siblings or an auntie and uncle rather than the authors my son and me read for years. I met in Omaha at the Love and War retreat in 2010.
Your familiar voices and authentic connection by faith has woken me. Feels like I’ve been napping.
Having you show up in what is typically the middle of the night for some is the Word I’ve been craving and asking for during a challenging time.
This year, consecration is my word. Typically I have a word. On the cover page of my mission vision ways imma accomplish annual journal. This message affirms so much. Invited onto a new level.
Feeling like the air is let outta a lifetime of holding my breath. Grateful God gave me the moment when I’m use to a ritualistic annual start. Very powerful. Disruptive. Perfect. After months of reflective strategizing. I’m always a puppy. Jesus lead me. Teach me. Tame me as a beautiful outlaw. A woman of true beauty with the grace to be and room to become (thank you Staci :)
For a second word or subtitle, Freedom.
As a veteran this word means many things. Today, renewal by faith. Feeling invited in a new way with God I’d not thought of.

I'm also not ready either. I'm honestly a little scared of 2024.... 2023 had some hard pills to swallow. I lost my mom and it threw off the rest of my year. I kept starting and stopping thigs and couldn't get back on track. My health has been off I've been to hospitals and bed rest. My focus on God and His word completely knocked off. So yeah I'm a bit scared.

Losing someone is always difficult and grief is a long road. You cannot be who you were before. I pray for gentle kindness and comfort over you. Pray that you can see the beauty in 2024 🌸

Personally, thanks to some messages from the Lord several years ago, I'm looking for the beginnings of some national improvement for the USA to begin in July.
Men are under attack and regularly shamed by this culture. Men leaving the Woke movement need some guidance.
