It is a good place. We frequently go to Rogers Wholesale in Southampton. A couple of weeks ago I bought a case of 12 x 250g boxes of gluten free pasta for £4.50. They had 2 types, green pea pasta and red lentil pasta, I got a case of each. Being gluten free it is expensive (I can't eat wheat). What we buy is very good quality. There is often something they sell that I need or would like. Occasionally we also visit Roger's wholesale in Poole as well.
I use to work for TESCO what a disgusting place TESCO wastes so much it’s so wrong it would make you sik to the stomach if you could see the amount they get rid of and it’s perfectly fine and yet Tesco give the impression they care they absolutely don’t all they care abouat is profit I stopped shopping at TESCO .
Best before date food - usually known as a 'Food Bank' that doesn't usually cost you 'ANY MONEY' to begin with. I can't believe people are actually turning this into a business. Unreal !!!!
Food banks are perfect for some who prefer to spend their money on cigs and beer, that’s why the free food is a bigger draw, than this warehouse I guess.
@@rayvinloony2322 Those people do exist - but I speak from experience, when I say that a good percentage actually need a leg up in life, not a dent in their already lacking funds.
@Scott Smith That's your opinion and somewhat lacking in reality. I've said, that I know such people exist. I've worked with homeless people and it's amazing how tribal and agressive some of the general public can become towards someone who's just down on their luck and needs a 'leg up'. So, no - I disagree on your supposed assessment.
Where I live there is a fare share community larder where you make a specific payment (£2.50, £3.50 or £5.00, depending on how many people live in the house) each time you visit. You then get given 1-3 crates of food depending on what you paid. You don't choose what you get and some things are close to use by or best before date but it can be useful. Have used it occasionally. Anyone in the community can use it, we just have to register to do so.
we have been to the Rogers in Bilston and we have saved a fortune, all the comments about where is the healthy stuff go in and take a look, they have pasta , sauces, vegetables, low sugar items, not everything is unhealthy people go to save money
It is not all snacks. We have bought soups, baked beans, gluten free pasta, curry sauce, rice, Isabel gluten free batter mix, oats, breakfast cereals, various sauces, Marmite peanut butter . Even bought some fruit smoothies. Yes there is a lot of snacks and soft drinks, but you can often find some decent stuff in there as well. I can't eat wheat so have to get gluten free stuff which is expensive, so if I can get some these items in one of these shops then I will.
@@rachelpenny5165 maybe so , but it's sad when it comes to this. A owner can make money on out of date goods all the time people come up with ideas the government are laughing that we accept this while they dine in high end restaurants
I be honest with you Mark has been running these shops for years and I've been buying food for over 10 years with them and we feed the homeless people as well as our families.
@@MrMonero try asking tesco and asda about how much waste they do each day they have only just started giving a minority of what they throw in the bin away and if you knew about rodgers they have been running for over ten years and they do help families out, so instead of putting the company down try talking to them direct!!!
@Scott Smith Shouldn't the company pay enough to attract its own citizens to work there? Pretty cringey when both left and right guys become complete hypocrites to bolster their flawed ideology. You can be economically left leaning and Culturally right leaning you know....
And since when is Maltesers essential for anybody ?

I've shop at Roger since they had the first shop in Wimborne, they now have 4 warehouses it saves us over 300 month and we share between 5 families.
And we shop in Poole. And Southampton too.

"So what you're saying is", tonnes of food goes to waste due to government regulations.
EU regulations we haven't got for of yet

Cost of living crisis: showing Maltesers. Is that a WTFarage moment?
2:53 Still over the allowance M.P. said of 30 pence
The vocalMale.
Could not agree with you more mate, would a voucher system be more transparent?
You can’t spend vouchers on anything else.
People can sell food vouchers though.
Of course but then they won’t be able to claim food which their kids need.
I can tell you the people of this country don't need any more maltesers
1:15 But that is well over the 30 pence the M.P. said
But it's not real food it's snacks ,they are places 3 of them in Hull called stack em high . Increase in obesity and poor diet will not help
