This week, I made a SAND WATERFALL. What do you think? These tiger barbs are truly incredible fish. They should be kept in schools and ideally in a species only tank as they can be aggressive towards other fish. They can also grow quite large (2-3 inches), so plan ahead for a larger tank upgrade! Happy to answer all your questions below ☺
Really would suggest a more stationary or vertical swimming fish like a single Amazon/figure8 puffer, or a single discus/angel. They would be fine in there.
Beatufiul setup but the tank seems a bit narrow for the fish, I think they prefer more lenght ? maybe it is just an illusion due to the tank dimension tho
Barbs need much more horizontal swimming room, they don't use vertical swimming space as much as horizontal Edit: wow this really blew up, I'm glad so many people are for better fish care!!!
Yeah I was thinking the same throughout the video. I doubt they stay in their tanks for long though as this channel is built around tank design and is aliened with aquarium co-op. I'd imagine that after each of these videos these tanks are taken apart and repurposed for a new video. Even if this is the case though, it still does put a bad impression on new fish owners who may do a similar thing.
I've noticed this site just sets up a tank to make a video, I've seen multiple videos with the use of the same tanks from previous videos, they will never show updates because these tanks are never kept after the video is made if you notice the tanks are always setup on the same table once a tank is full of water you can't move it you have to empty it first, you are all being used for views just to make money!!!
They need to be in a bigger tank, even at that size. You need to up the size of the tank before they grow, not as they grow. This is how you get fish with stunted growth and other health problems. That tank would be okay for cherry shrimp or smaller fish, but not barbs.
@@invaderjoshua6280 size will stunt growth. I just googled it. And barbs like long tanks not tall.. and just because they are living doesn’t mean they are thriving .
@@invaderjoshua6280 just bc someone does something on RUclips, doesn't mean its right. anyone can post, anyone can have an opinion. barbs do need more horizontal swimming room. I have kept exotics including fresh and salt tanks and I have kept barbs before. you can even tell from the way they are all swimming back and forth at a noticeably quick pace in the video. I love this tank design and you can tell she is knowledgeable on aquatics, I just think other species would suit the tank better. As for breeding, how does it make any sense to cramp and crowd your fish, that just sounds like the equivalent of a puppy mill for fish. more fish equals more room, so why would you want to keep all of them in smaller tanks, competing for more space? Or how about you? would you prefer to live in a bedroom, or a house? Obviously you're not gonna keep it in something huge where it can't find food, just a reasonably sized tank, so the fish can all grow normally....keep an Oscar in a 55 gallon and it won't grow past 12 inches cuz the fish can't turn around. so, its spinal structure becomes stunted from limited mobility...point and case. I know breeders who breed their fish in appropriate tank size and still make tons of success. all in all life will go on whether its struggling or thriving but its up to us as humans with morality and conscience to make their existence as best as possible in our care. we have the power to let them thrive and as a way of giving back to the animal for profiting off of their literal existence, isn't it only fair to care for them as best as possible?
@@invaderjoshua6280 You can keep an animal alive under less than ideal conditions or you can let them live and thrive in the best environment possible. My niece kept a beta alive in a 1/2 gal bowl. That fish was not thriving.

Best to buy the correct size tank for your fish- I know you said you plan to upgrade but keeping them in a tiny tank for any length of time risks stunting them plus I don’t think it is giving the best info for your viewers. Cool waterfall though!
I would be more concerned about tank length than the sands falling. It’s kind of just falling against the hardscape so of there was issue they would been running into the rocks anyways.
You make it look so easy but I know this takes some serious talent. Your work is beautiful. You have easily become my favorite RUclips channel that creates aquariums. Straight to point and showing the entire process while explaining things. Thank you so much!
I wouldn't draw inspiration from this video. Simply because barbs need much more room than what she had supplied them with but also because her other videos feature designs that can be harmful such as sharp edges in the axolotl tank
I had a tank full of green tiger barbs. When I was at the aquarium picking them out there was one of the green Tiger barbs in the orange Barb tank I got 8 out of the green Barb tank and asked to also have the Green Barb that was in the orange tank as well. I named him party hard. One day I came home from work and I counted all my fish and noticed Party hard was missing. A week later I found party hard hidden underneath my bed. RIP party hard you went out doing what you loved the most jumping out of tanks. Moral of the story. Get a lid if you have barbs so they don’t end up like party hard.
Yeap they jump quite often , having 2 aquariums next to each other , one yeeted "thankfully" in the next aquarium when I forgot the lids doing maintenance the other aquarium had a betta he got chased quite a bit before I noticed and well he got out of the mess without a scratch , one lucky fellow lol.

Hello ! Love the way you did a funny concept but still manage to get a very nice natural style aquarium. The video editing is very entertaining ! I just have some doubt with the stocking of this tank. If I remember correctly, theses fishes prefer lengthy aquarium because they are made to swim fast. (Judging by the kind of fins they have) Maybe some guppies or killifish would have been better ? I’m not sure, maybe some more experienced fish keepers could help here. (I’m used to keep tank with almost no fish in haha) Cheers !
