- Summary: Twilight had no idea of where the door had come from. It was there, and that was a fact. When it was there, at least, which wasn't always the case. But she would find out what was behind it sooner or later. It was just a matter of time. The door was always there, after all.

I'm gonna take a guess in the dark here:
So as a filly she opened a door and saw/found a dead body of somepony and after that, the door had scarred her. As an adult, maybe she saw the same looking door somewhere and throughout her life, she had kept seeing the door appear but forgot what was behind it because of trauma but she became the ruler, she saw a door the exact same but when opened it was a broom closet.
Complete guess, anyway another amazing story Scribbler and can't wait for the next one 🥰🥰
Yeah makes sense to me. Now I just want to know who's dead body it was..... But unfortunately that's a mystery probably will never get to be solved
My original theory was that it was Discord messing with her. While this would be in character for him, this seems a little too subtle and methodical compared to his usual tricks. Discord is many things, but patient isn't one of them. I think I like your theory better, honestly.
@@starbolt86d77 Honestly I didn't even think about Twilight Sparkle being messed with Discord. While he does like to do tricks an play pranks and just messed with every pony and stuff, usually there would be some kind of payoff or funny type thing that would happen that would make him laugh or be amused. For example if this was HIS doing, he'd for sure make only Twilight see the door and nopony else but not for a super long time as he is definitely not patient as you mentioned. To him it'd be funny to make Twilight think she's going nuts but that sounds a bit far, like maybe the old non reformed Discord. Also whatever would be inside the door would be his style of humor like inside was a weird funny looking world that made no sense or something like that and he'd show up to brag about. He LOVES to make himself known and claim the funny chaotic prank.......but this had no such thing, like at all. So unfortunately I'd like the idea of maybe what if Discord one day decides to just do all this...sadly it's too dark,dull, unfunny, too much effort, not his style or calling card as it were. 🤔 Sadly this does seem like Twilight's own head or repressed memory.

No, I got the "I Remember" ending the Very Bad Ending. Ending 3/4 it seems you got Neutral Ending, hence it was called "Closet."

i figured it out. Twilight saw a dead body as a filly and the door leading into a tool shed where the corpse was is just a visionary hallucination of a flashback.

I don't think you are completely wrong, but I think it is more like it is a hallucination based on trauma that Twilight had in her youth at finding a dead and rotten body in a shed like you mentioned.

the story gets dark eventually, but the first third where the door annoys twilight is hilarious
This door sounds like a jerk, but why does Twilight always seem like the perfect protagonist for psychological horror?
Regardless, this was a blast to listen to!
mainly due to her obsesion with perfection and being insane when she cant do something she sets her mind on.
(Theres even an episode she goes insane cuz her future self told her "Not to-" something and she started not doing ANYTHING

She saw something horrible behind the original door, a corpse, but trauma made her forget what she saw so now its haunts her
Have you not seen The X Files and the way Skully handles everything? The old series is the best though. INT based characters are the best to have horrible cosmic horrors happen to and have someone like Spooky Mulder there to actually help with the explanation. In this case Twiliy is both dynamics of magic and science. We need that in our world.

Because she's rational and does not take kindly to things she perceives as unrealistic and ridiculous.
She reacts more negatively to the illogical, so much so that it can consume her.

Filly Twi wandered away from the park and found an old building with that door.
Inside she found the decomposing carcass of a dead pony (possibly s-cide).
That event traumatised her, and she never mentioned it to her mum because she'd get in trouble for wandering.
Throughout life, especially during big changes and when she was alone she started to have visual flashbacks. She would see the door. She could study the door. But since a lot of visual flashbacks are similar to hallucinations, once her attention was pulled away the part of her brain responsible for the flashbacks would snap to focus, and the door would disappear.
No-one else could see it, because it's inside her own mind. It's a flashback.
She didn't want to open it because of a trauma response. She only wanted to look at it, study it, knowing she shouldn't open it.
As she grows, that room has been cleared out, or a door aged in a similar fashion, and it was just a broom closet, "closing" that trauma and giving her some closure

When it initially cut to young twilight I thought it was gonna be that the dead body was present/future twi and it was a weird time loop thing but honestly it being repressed memories forcing themself back into her mind makes sense

This was sooo good. The narration and story were amazing. Ngl I expected something supernatural, but I’m guessing that the door was a side affect of her repressing the trauma of seeing that body. That’s something I can see happening in real life and I really like that. The psychological aspect of the story made it like 10x better
This was a good story. Reminds me of one of those horror films that's more psychological than your typical slashy slashy horror films.

I have a theory on the door but its pretty long so just scroll past this if your not interested.
what If there was someone trying to get help in the door? that that may have gotten stuck getting in or getting out? that the desperate pleas for help where thought of a game. That maybe that someone(s?) who had been stuck in there for who knows how long due to the doors abilities had slowly died there. and that before the someone died or maybe the door itself brought the door to twilight as a foal, saw what was inside, and so twilight knew what was in there but twilight repressed what she saw but remembered it subconsciously. So later in life when twilight saw the door again in life she was more inclined to give up seeing what was on the other side of the door.
The death was the cause of the death later on. And twilight could have helped, even saved, who was in there.
And that maybe, maybe, if things went slightly different, even the smallest amounts (maybe twilight mother could have noticed that twilight was acting odd or that instead of repressing what she saw she couldn't forget), that could have happened.
But it never happend.
Okay so we got scary stories about doors now what else can we think of, is there already scary stories about boxes? Toasters? How about refrigerators?
both fridge and box can be scary with the Schrodinger's cat dylema.
toaster can be body horror of being burned and eaten.

This was good, though I'm curious on what that shape that Twilight saw was. But the story is still good.
A dead body
To me, it seems like the door was testing her, like you are only worthy to approach and open it without it disappearing somehow when instead of actively seeking it out and chasing after it, you just accept it as apart of your environment and ignore it, move past it, put your standards above its taunting, move on with your life, only then are allowed to open it, since you’ve proven yourself to be superior to it, and I assume it starts to actively seek you out and follow you so you can actually open it, and ignoring it will just accentuate that aspect of it, it also appears to adapt its behavior to encourage the worthy to open it. But when other people are around who haven’t done the same thing, it defaults back to how it was before, not giving them the chance to interact, since they haven’t proven themselves worthy to it, but it still offers the chance to open it to people who have proven worthy when it can, when others who haven’t proven worthy aren’t looking, and perhaps it can only start testing others only when the worthy have actually opened it, go full circle per se.

Theres military instalations where they put "Warning Radiation" or something similar and people STILL snter it.
Theres even that 1 hot springs thing where the water is so hot it literally melts your skin and bones and there are a ton of warning signs but many just get around them.

CSI: Equestria... I'm with everyone else who has so far suggested that she found er... Something rather unpleasant... In that shed
They started playing and it woke me up, but I was in sleep paralysis position and I couldn’t move the story kept going on and on and all I could see was what the story was describing the door as but I don’t remember anything about opening the door or doing anything that caused me to think of a door like that So I’m going to try listening to it again at night full volume and see what it shows me. Wish me luck. 🤞

The more you tried to measure and observe a quantum phenomenon with exquisite detail, the more uncertainty in its variables added to that said phenomenon…

Good reading but the story itself was just really boring.
Maybe The Door Was A Portal To An Alternate Reality, Where King Sombra Ruled Equestria........And He Corrupted Twilight To Cross Over To The DarkSide, And Become His Wife.
Maybe the door represents a traumatic event in twilight's life. She saw something so horrific as filly. That her mind blocked it out completely for so many years.
