    What a wonderful exterior colour setting that is. Is that a wrap or is it original BMW?

      Glad you like it! It’s BMW Galvanic Gold, genuine paint from factory 😀

    Awesome! I did two Garmin cameras on my i3s - the front one I got power from the rearview mirror but the rear is just plugged into the 12v in the cargo area. Your install is incredible slick! How easily does that C pillar trim come off? Just the screw under the airbag sign and pull the panel off?

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  Год назад +1

      Yes the pillars are quite straight-forward to remove!
      It's always nice having one camera that can do front and rear at the same time especially if wired directly into the car's fuse board!

    Great video. I have a 2019 BMW i3s and checked the BMW site to check out this dash cam. It’s shows as not compatible with the i3. How did you get this fitted to your i3s, was there any alterations you had to make or is their compatibility chart wrong?

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  Год назад +1

      Many thanks. This camera is definitely compatible, you just need to buy some specific parts to make the camera work with the i3 fuse board. If you search, you can find the specific fitting kit and installation manual for the i3 with this camera system.

      can you share the P/N for the fitting kit for the i3? @@Carbonwurks

    So does it need to be wired into the rear wiring loom? I was told by my local MINI dealer they can't fit the rear camera to my new Clubman as there is no provision in the rear loom, is that true?

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  7 месяцев назад

      It does depend massively on the vehicle. We don’t have specific knowledge with the clubman sadly but BMW/Mini will list what cars specifically these will work with.

    • @cathyolds6521
      @cathyolds6521 7 месяцев назад

      @@Carbonwurks I might have misunderstood the video then, I thought the wiring was all to the front of the car so the rear camera doesn’t need to use the rear loom.

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  7 месяцев назад

      @cathyolds6521 for this particular car that’s correct. It runs from back of the car to the front fuse box and doesn’t need to touch any of the rear loom. It does depend on each vehicle which is why this may not be applicable to the mini clubman.
      Both BMW and Mini have installation guides that outlay the process vehicle specific.

      @@Carbonwurks I'm looking to install this into my F40, where can you get the installation guides from exactly? I've searched and found very little info so far. Great video, thanks

      @jasonstevenson2928 Glad you liked the video!
      You get a basic install guide with the kit but the main vehicle specific ones are from the BMW tech info system which you’re unlikely to find online I’m afraid.
