This is one of the best tutorials I've seen on the Honeycomb method. I've just started with rhinestones and explaining how to line up the rhinestones horizontally AND diagonally is so helpful! I'm still working on my first tumbler and my honeycomb is starting to look like the scatter method - 😂. I'm going to follow your advice on the next one. Thanks!
Hello and good morning to you! I wonder if this method could be done on acrylic tumblers. I'm fairly new to this and before I waste product, I wanted any or all input. I thank you kindly~🙂
This is great teaching and outcome as well. You really made me want to give this a try. One thing you did not say was the amount of rhinestones bags one should purchase... That is my questions how many bags should be ordered thank you
Hi Miss P, the average 20oz Straight Tumbler will need approx 30 gross of rhinestones in Size Ss16. If using a smaller sizes like SS10, you will need more stones. If using larger size, like SS20 you will need less stone. Happy Blinging!!!
I love your video's they are so informative, I'm really learning. How do you know how much to leave open for the spiral? Like do you only honeycomb half the cup or maybe 3/4 of the cup?
HI Melissa, It's up to you how much space youd like to leave open. Depending on the design that will go in the center swirl, I generally leave 3-4 inches of the center open.
Hi there.. I've just started to do this method and noticed that most stones don't fit in the crevice and leaves a space.. so in this case, just pick another stone and keep going?
Hi Martha, that is correct. Rhinestones have a sizing tolerance, in tenths of a millimeter. To keep your lines straight, you wont always push each stone tightly and all the way into the crevice from the prior row. Its important to check that the spacing of row itself is straight in relation to the project.
Hey this is so pretty. But not easily understood.you said for each row add one on one end and leave one off on the other side. Its just leaving me with gaps on that side. Why?
HI@@charlenebrown2574. Shifting each row one stone to the right, then leaving one off will leave a gap in the center that creates a swirl around the tumbler. This way I can add the spots in the same swirl pattern. After adding the spots, I fill in the gap by connecting each row together and use fillers as needed. Alternatively you could do a complete row each time. I just find this easier to keep the honeycomb pattern straight throughout. No you never epoxy over rhinestones. It takes away their shine. If you follow the prep (making sure you sand and wash the tumbler or item you're rhinestoning) and use a GOOD adhesive (AKA e6000, liquid fusion, supertite fusion tack, etc.) Then you should be totally fine.

Hello. I have a question.......did you or do you put a coat of epoxy on tumbler after your done?
No you do NOT add epoxy after rhinestones. It actually takes away from their shine
Can we epoxy over those or no?
I do not recommend using epoxy over the rhinestones, they will lose their sparkle and shine.
How do you seal it then to prevent them from falling off?
