    I cannot believe it ! Aged 70 I only started fishing recently and you would not believe the times I have got tangled up. Searching for reasons why I have trawled the Net and discovered the Helicopter Rig. Yesterday and today I have found some great videos on it and without wishing to denigrate any of them watching yours is so informative that all I need to do now is to buy the fittings tomorrow. Thanks Darren for such a great video. All I need to do now is to avoid over hanging trees. 😉Ted

    Hi, I love the video is so good and really clear but just one bit. How long is that hook length? It looked about 4 foot long I've ner seen anything like that before. Is that how long it is ? Can you explain why so long I'm talking still waters

    • @red110tdi
      @red110tdi 2 года назад

      You can use any length of hook length, it all depends how wary of the feeder the fish are, or if you want a slower drop on the hook through the water, go with a longer hook length, many anglers try different lengths In a session

      For bream sometimes a long hook length is very good. Much better than a short one.

    Hi there
    Regarding heli rig love it, but for some reason, about 5cast with that rig setup starting to tangle up, any reason to why as I've do exactly like you have done.
    I'm casting at 60yards aswel.
    I've bring it back and fine it's tangled...!
    What would it be any idea
    Is to why....

      maybe try with a longer link between feeder and stops. Maybe your hook length is too fine? try fluorocarbon as it is stiffer and does not twist.

    Hi as you have made such a big knot on the main line why do you need two stops both sides of the hook length swivel

    • @GarbolinoUK
      @GarbolinoUK  2 года назад +1

      The stops mean that you can actually vary the distance the hook length is from the feeder. Most importantly it accentuates the helicopter motion when being cast which eliminates any tangles. Regards

      You only need one either side he’s showing you two either side to use more of their products

    What happens in the case of a break. How can the hooklink slide off by itself if it's between 2 stops ? Just curious

    • @GarbolinoUK
      @GarbolinoUK  2 года назад

      The hook length is attached to the speed link, so can easily be replaced in seconds. Regards

      The stops can slide off the line if there’s a break and the feeder gets snagged

    Great instructions but why do you have to Twizzle the line?

    • @GarbolinoUK
      @GarbolinoUK  2 года назад

      The twizzled part of the loop helps keep everything stiffer and further eliminates tangles. Best regards

    hi there, can i use this rig on fast flowing rivers ? if not why not thanx

    • @GarbolinoUK
      @GarbolinoUK  Год назад

      Hi Carol, yes no problem. It works well for Barbel, Chub, Bream etc. Especially in heavy flows when you need to create a 'bolt' effect to move the feeder and hook the fish at the same time. kind regards
