  • Fluid leaks from organs within the body are life-threatening complications after gastrointestinal surgeries. But there currently are not reliable, non-invasive ways to detect these dangerous leaks. Now, new research from the John Rogers lab addresses that unmet need. This tiny, flexible, biocompatible sticker changes shape when it senses abnormal fluids in the body. These changes are visible via ultrasound, which clinicians can monitor for earlier detection and intervention.
